Welcome back to school, Vikings! 🚌 We’ve revamped our bus network around WWU to make riding faster and simpler!

Here’s what you need to know:

- Route 190 is your main line: Runs every 15 minutes on weekdays through campus, connecting Downtown to Lakeway & Lincoln.

- Fewer routes, less confusion: We're down to 8 total routes. Most students will only need the 190 or campus shuttles!

- Easy transfers: Connect smoothly between local buses (Routes 5, 6, 7) and Route 190 at Bill McDonald & Samish, WWU Rec Center, or Bellingham Station.

UPDATE 9/23: Construction has been postponed - park and ride open today.

Heads up! More construction will be happening at the Lincoln Creek Park & Ride.
Bus access will be closed all day on Wednesday, September 23, and Monday, September 28.
Please use the bus stops at Lincoln St @ Maple St, which feature a marked crosswalk for safe transfer access.

Exciting news for downtown Bellingham! While plans for a future transit station are underway, WTA is leasing the former Public Market space to Paper Whale to create a vibrant temporary hub for artists and community events. 🚌 🎨✨

Lincoln Creek Park & Ride will be closed all day on Thursday, September 17, due to construction.

Please use the bus stops at Lincoln St @ Maple St, which feature a marked crosswalk for safe transfer access.

Buses will resume normal operations at Lincoln Creek Park & Ride on Friday, September 18.

WTA is currently accepting applications for new Transit Access Fund projects! Government organizations serving Whatcom County, including local, state, and tribal governments are eligible to apply. See the link above for more information. For the 2027 calendar year, WTA has budgeted $500,000 to be awarded to eligible projects.

The deadline to submit an application and supporting documents is Friday, October 23, 2026.
