WWU’s Fall Family Weekend begins today! 🍂🫂
It’s the perfect time to go for a paddle or sail at the Lake!
Family members accompanying students can rent paddlecraft for 2 hours free from Friday-Sunday. No prior experience is required for paddlecraft, sit-on kayaks, canoes, or the pedalboat!

Rentals are first come, first serve - no advance registration required.

Start Fall Quarter with a day of FREE activities at Lakewood!🍂

Fall Lake Day is Saturday, September 26th from noon - 5pm, and will have a variety of activities to try:

-Guided sailboat and big canoe rides
-Intro to paddling orientations
-Free rentals for students
-Arts and crafts
-Lawn games
-& more!

Free sandwiches from Leaf & Ladle will be available for the first 100 students.
Free shuttles will be running between the Viking Union and Lakewood every half hour, starting at 11:15am.

Come down to Lakewood Friday September 11th for a night of song, dance, and anything else you can think up to say farewell to the summer season! Bring a song, poem, or performance down to our open mic on the lawn - sign ups for a slot will begin at 4:15, with performances starting at 5. We can’t wait to see you there!

Sign up for Sailing Basics at Lakewood! (Link in Bio) ⛵️ Summer Student Sailing Lessons cater to students from Bellingham’s colleges and universities.
Schedule:
Wednesdays July 15 – Aug 5 (Lessons occur Wednesdays for 4 weeks. 4:00p-7:00p )
or
Sat/Sun August 8-9 & 15-16 (Lessons occur every Sat/Sun for two weekends. 11:30a-2:30p.

This series of four lessons will take you through the basics of sailing smallboats. Lessons are taught by student Boathouse Instructors and consist of a series of 4-6 lesson days at Lakewood. To request a fee waiver for your registration fee please reach out to us at [email protected].

Transportation Info:
A free vanpool to/from campus is available (Wednesday sessions only). Students must opt into this at registration. Bike, bus, or drive to the weekend sessions. 512 leaves Bellingham station at 10:20a and arrives at Lakewood at 11:05a.
