Wild Bird Charity fills a critical need in our community’s food system by providing meals to children who might otherwise go hungry. Operating across Whatcom County, this volunteer-powered organization ensures nearly 1,000 students receive the nutrition they need when school meals aren’t available.

Founded in 2016, Wild Bird Charity partners with 32 schools throughout Bellingham, Blaine, Ferndale, Lummi Nation, Lynden and Mount Baker. Volunteers pack food bags every Thursday — each with an entire weekend’s supply of food — and distribute them to children before they finish their school-week

Wildbird Charity is committed to making this a reality and feeding every hungry child in Whatcom County. You can make a difference by making a donation below: We are currently providing 2 Breakfast, 2 Lunch, 2 Dinners, and several snacks and to needy children in Whatcom County every weekend. We part...

It is with great sadness The Landings at Colony Wharf shares the loss of Peter Gaasland. Peter Gaasland spent most of his life involved in the C Street businesses, from the day he graduated from college he started work down here with his father at Bellingham Builders Supply at that time. C Street, with the knowledge, tenacity, honesty and hard work of Peter it has evolved to what it is today. He will be greatly missed. Today and always we honor Peter Gaasland.

Whatcom Waterway history and how many years it has been a working waterfront. It is such an honor to be here.

On September 14, 1920, 77% of Whatcom County voters approved creating the Port of Bellingham. The Port’s first order of business was to purchase waterfront property and organize the confusing jumble of docks on Bellingham's waterfront. The picture below shows a celebration in honor of a Canadian Pacific Railway ferry when it became the first vessel to land on the Port's new ferry landing on the Whatcom Waterway on May 21, 1923.
