Another Look at our January 2020 centerfold: Ron Ver Steeg of Ver Steeg Trucking in Bellflower, CA owns this 2019 Peterbilt 389 transfer unit, complete with classically-styled Rogue boxes. Powered by an X15 Cummins hooked to a 10-speed, other “old school cool” items on this rig include double round headlights on Double JJ brackets, five cab lights, extra tall 5-inch Dynaflex pipes with heat shields and plenty of pinstripes. Cleaned and operated by longtime driver Chris Sotella (AKA Showtella), this is just one of the five blue Peterbilt transfers in the current Ver Steeg fleet that haul all sorts of sand, gravel and decorative rock throughout California, Nevada and Arizona.
