🤝 BrakeTech USA Announces New Ownership

BrakeTech USA , the American manufacturer of AXIS™ floating motorcycle brake rotors and Caliper Racing Pistons, announced today that the company has been acquired by Brock and Rhonda Davidson.

BrakeTech continues to operate as BRAKETECH USA, LLC - a Brock's Performance company - with manufacturing remaining at its Reidsville, North Carolina facility.

Founder Jeff Gehrs has stepped back from day-to-day operations and continues with the company as Senior Technical Advisor, supporting product development and technical matters on an ongoing basis.

BrakeTech's manufactured product lines continue without interruption, including the AXIS™ floating rotor system, Cobra SS street and road rotors, AXIS/RR round-race series rotors, CobraMX offroad rotors, SuperAxe rotors, BigBrake oversized kits, BT-HD Harley-Davidson rotors, and Caliper Racing Pistons. Part numbers and pricing are unchanged.

The company also launched a rebuilt braketech.com today, developed to serve retail customers and dealers through the same storefront. Product, fitment, and technical content will continue to be added to the site on an ongoing basis. Phase two of the build takes the catalog to approximately 350 rotor SKUs.

"It would have been a genuine loss to the industry if one of the best components you can put on a motorcycle had gone away. We are not changing BrakeTech - we are putting Brock's Performance's organization, marketing, and graphics team behind it, and giving riders and dealers a website that does the products justice."

You may be asked to leave the bike with us for as long as 4 weeks or as little as half a day.

🤣 Everybody said we blew the rings dyno'ing this bike at one break-in mile. So before we ran it again, cold, we compression and leakdown tested it - 97 street miles later.

💧 Leakdown: 0% on all four. Compression: 210 / 207 / 204 / 210 - a 2.9% spread, against a 10% spec.

📏 To be precise: there is no such thing as a true 0% leakdown engine. All engines have rings, and all rings have end gaps. 0% means we could not measure any leakage on this gauge.

📋 One correction from the first video: I said these engines are "broken in from the factory." That was sloppy wording on my part. Run and validated is accurate - Suzuki cold-tests every engine and rolling-road tests every finished bike. Minutes, not miles.

🚨 2027 GSX-R1000 Dyno | Suzuki Claims 192 HP - Here's What It Really Makes

Suzuki claims 192 horsepower for the 2027 GSX-R1000. Greg "Boost by Smith" Smith bought one, drove it straight to Brock's Performance with ONE break-in mile on it, and we put it on the dyno, bone stock, to find out what it really makes.

The number: 158.22 rear-wheel horsepower at 11,150 rpm and 75.20 lb-ft at 10,960 rpm. Greg guessed 155. Brock guessed 160. Watch the pull.

Before anyone starts typing: Suzuki's 192 hp figure is measured at the crankshaft, and ours is measured at the rear wheel, where drivetrain loss normally costs you 10 to 12 percent. Even accounting for that, this bike is leaving power on the table - and the shape of the curve shows you exactly where it goes.

Test bike: 2027 Suzuki GSX-R1000 40th Anniversary - base model, $16,399 MSRP, one break-in mile, completely stock.

📝 As-delivered baseline, no changes:
- 158.22 rwhp / 75.20 lb-ft - Dynojet 250i, SAE 1.04, Power Mode A, traction control off, premium fuel, 40 psi rear
- Power peaks at 11,150 rpm then goes flat to the limiter - that plateau is emissions and noise compliance, not the engine's limit
- True rev limiter at 14,270 rpm on our dyno, the highest-revving Suzuki we've ever tested
- Same ECU architecture as the Gen 3 Hayabusa, fully CAN bus dash
- Suzuki's claimed 13.8:1 compression on 90-octane pump gas
- Smallest OEM lithium-ion battery we've seen, and a noticeably tidier harness layout

👏 The good news: because the ECM shares Gen 3 Hayabusa architecture, de-restricting this bike should not take anywhere near as long as it did on those. Greg, Brendan Griffin, and Chris Moore are already on it.
