Come preview our major 2027 Travel Club tours!

First Community Bank’s Adventure First Travel Club in Batesville each year helps its loyal members check the boxes off their personal “Bucket Lists.” We try to coordinate fascinating travel to faraway places to capture experiences our guests thought were not possible in their lifetime – before they “kick the bucket.”
Last year, the Travel Club fulfilled our clients’ lifelong dreams of visiting exciting Paris, France – and also encountering the astounding wonders of Alaska!
Two years ago, we chased the elusive Northern Lights across Iceland.
This year, we have explored the treasures of Ancient Egypt. Soon we will discover the Pacific Northwest and California, then we will appreciate the natural beauty and old-world charm of Croatia and Slovenia in Central Europe.
Where will we take you next?
We invite you to preview our major 2027 Travel Club tours by attending a presentation at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, in the Rider Community Room of the First Community Main Bank at Harrison & St. Louis Streets in Batesville.

Bucket lists can include adrenaline-pumping adventures, or profound travel destinations, or challenging personal development goals.

The Adventure First Travel Club is dedicated to helping our members start converting their Bucket Lists into remarkably real travel experiences.
We schedule tours to major destinations across the U.S. and around the world that our members might have thought they would never actually visit. Then they do … with us.
Of course, we also host day trips each month of regional activities like plays, concerts, and museums. But we really spread our wings (or at least those on an airplane!) that allow our clients soar across the skies to encounter numerous distant adventures.
For example:
Our “Treasures of Egypt” tour guests embraced thousands of years of history as they walked among the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, and other ancient wonders.
Our “Spotlight on Paris” clients stood in awe before the Eiffel Tower, reveled in the wondrous art at the Louvre Museum and the Palace of Versailles, and also encountered the “ghosts” of D-Day at Normandy Beach.
The Bucket List question now for our Travel Club members is, “Where will we go next?”

Please mark your calendar so you can discover the answers to that question at our preview party at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, at the First Community Main Bank at Harrison & St. Louis Streets in Batesville.
If you have read this far into this announcement, we will reward you with a sneak peek of where we plan to go in 2027 – and hope you will join us on these adventures:

• New Zealand, February 2027

• Islands of New England, July 2027

• Spain, October 2027

We look forward to seeing you and providing more details at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4.

About Lost Bayou Ramblers

The two-time Grammy award winning Lost Bayou Ramblers’ evolution as a progressive Louisiana French band rooted in Cajun traditions continues to excite, challenge, and redefine both genre expectations as well as cultural preconceptions.

Founded in 1999 by brothers Andre and Louis Michot, the years have brought Lost Bayou Ramblers a feature on Jack White’s television program American Epic, contributions to the Oscar nominated film Beasts of the Southern Wild, and Grammy wins for Live: Orpheum Theater NOLA (their 2023 album with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra) and their 2017 studio album Kalenda.

Lost Bayou Ramblers have spent the last 25 years redefining Cajun music. Their sound fuses old-world Louisiana French traditions with rockabilly swagger, punk energy, and even a dash of psychedelia, all while singing in Cajun French. Think ancient melodies colliding with electric fuzz and irresistible rhythm.

Lost Bayou Ramblers stands at the crosscurrents of Louisiana culture by inhabiting the gray area between Cajun and Creole, convention and innovation, mystery, and a revelation, experimenting and growing the show to what it’s become today: an eclectic mix of modern sounds and rhythms with ancient Cajun melodies and lyrics.

Some of the Scheduled Exhibitions at the Museum of Fine Arts

Lori Larusso: A Paradox of Plenty
(Now showing through May 3, 2026)
Kentucky-based artist Lori Larusso's painting installation playfully tumbles across the Robyn and John Horn Gallery with no regard for centerline.
Her installations depict a parade of objects—the everyday, forgettable, or sometimes nostalgic bits that we consume and discard. An upturned shopping cart spills its contents onto the ground like an ironic cornucopia.
There is humor as well as reason for reflection as these things take on coded meanings in new contexts.

Uncommon Threads in Contemporary Art
(Now showing through April 29, 2026)
Uncommon Threads in Contemporary Art showcases work from the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation Collection by contemporary artists who sew or incorporate various fibers into their drawings, photographs, and sculptures.
Using natural and synthetic threads in both traditional and non-traditional ways, they experiment and metaphorically speak of the lines, networks, and webs that link people together.
Working in innovative ways, artists such as Maysey Craddock, Howardena Pindell, Anna Torma, and Ursula von Rydinsgvard, among others, collapse the hierarchies between fine art and craft.

You can also register for “Discover Croatia, Slovenia and the Adriatic Coast” easily and securely online with a credit card at https://gateway.gocollette.com/link/1360670.
When the webpage opens, click on “Sign Up Today,” and start filling in the information requested.
Imagine yourself coming face-to-face with a culture thousands of years in the making as you “Discover Croatia, Slovenia & the Adriatic Coast.” This fascinating tour is scheduled for October 10-21, 2026.
Next Thursday’s preview will be held in the George Rider Community Room of the First Community Main Bank at 1325 Harrison Street in Batesville (at the corner of St. Louis and Harrison Streets).

Croatia boasts stunning Adriatic beaches, ancient walled cities like Dubrovnik, and a vibrant island scene. Slovenia features breathtaking natural beauty with the Alps, picturesque lakes like Bled, and charming towns. The Adriatic Coast itself provides stunning coastal scenery, ancient architecture, and a unique cultural mix of influences.

October was selected for this tour because experts say the fall season is a prime time to visit these European locales. In autumn, temperatures start to go down, just like the crowds. The sea is still warm, the foliage begins to turn, and some of the finest seasonal products such as olive oil are ready to be tasted. October is also the best time to visit Plitvice Lakes region as the crowds are smaller and nature’s colors are incredible.

Other highlights of this tour:
— Explore Ljubljana, Slovenia’s romantic capital city, and enjoy the riverfront dotted with cafes and bridges.
— Discover the richness of Opatija, the “Riviera of Croatia,” and a gem of the largest peninsula on the Adriatic Sea.
— Experience the wonder of cascading lakes at Plitvice Lakes National Park, a place where waterfalls cascade down sheer cliffs connecting 16 pristine lakes.
— Step back into Roman times in Split’s Diocletian’s Palace.
— Enjoy visits to local restaurants, wineries, and artisanal food producers.
— Discover the well-preserved medieval city of Dubrovnik, “Pearl of the Adriatic,” with its ancient walls, fortresses, and baroque buildings.
— Delight in the old-world charm found in this sunny Adriatic paradise.
— Enjoy 20 included meals – sample farm-to-table delicacies, dine in historic Ljubljana Castle, and share a meal at a local home in a village outside Dubrovnik.
— Explore fascinating Zagreb on the optional pre-tour, with its bountiful museums, captivating architecture, and seasonal outdoor activities.

You may choose to extend your vacation with a two-night pre-tour visit to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, which is one of Europe’s most exciting cities.
