1,200+ Nautical Miles in 5.5 Days: Mission Accomplished! ⚓🌊

From the docks of Hollywood, FL to the Shark River Basin in Belmar, NJ, we just wrapped up an epic, high-efficiency yacht delivery of a stunning 55' Galeon.

Despite a late start on day one, precision sea routing allowed us to claw back hours across the open ocean. By taking advantage of extended daylight and calm seas, we safely delivered this luxury vessel exactly on time, as promised—averaging a massive 220 nautical miles per day.

Balancing the raw speed of the open ocean with the strategic safety of the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) is what separates a standard boat ride from a masterclass in professional yacht relocation. Along the way, we utilized key maritime hubs including Ft. Pierce, Port Canaveral, Brunswick GA, Charleston SC, Southport NC, Wrightsville Beach, Morehead City NC, Coinjock NC, Norfolk VA, and Ocean City MD.

Huge shoutout to Captain Tesha, who ran with me on this trip and did a spectacular job. Mastering navigation and truly knowing the Atlantic coast are what make good captains.

Welcome home to New Jersey! 🥂🚤

🌊➡️❄️ When the Atlantic freezes us out, we head inland.

At Atlantic Yacht Delivery, we spend most of our time running boats up and down the East Coast — but every once in a while, winter reminds us there’s more than one way to catch a fish!

Delivering a Brand-New 46’ Valhalla With Quad Mercury V10 Verados — Atlantic City to Riviera Beach, FL
Just wrapped up an unforgettable delivery of a brand new 46' Valhalla powered by quad Mercury V10 Verado engines—a rocket ship on the water. After completing the owner’s orientation in Atlantic City, we left around noon knowing this run to Riviera Beach (Palm Beach) was going to be fast, furious, and tight on time.
We punched out into 4–6 foot seas, shook out a few new-boat bugs, and made it all the way to Norfolk, VA, tying up at Bluewater Marina for the night. This vessel is a beast!
The next morning, I advised a 6:00 AM sharp departure to get through the Norfolk no-wake zones and make the 8:00 AM Great Bridge opening—they’re only opening on even hours due to repairs. We didn’t get off the dock until 6:50, costing us two full hours waiting for the next opening. I suggested taking the Dismal Swamp Route, but the owner opted to stay on the main ICW. Wrightsville Beach was the goal, but with the delay we pushed as far as Morehead City.
Day three: early start—and this time the owner listened. Seas were 3–5 feet, but the Valhalla handled them beautifully. With a quick fuel stop at Tybee Island, SC, we logged an incredible 377 miles, ending the day in Fernandina Beach (Amelia Island), Florida. That might be a personal record for this Captain with a center console delivery!
Final day: smooth seas, light winds, and a boat built for speed. We cleared the Palm Beach Inlet and were tied up in Riviera Beach Marina by 3:45 PM.
What a run. What a crew. And what an incredible machine this Valhalla V46 is. Congratulations to the owners— Her next leg, the Dominican Republic!

Delivering a Beautiful 58’ SeaRay Sundancer — From Long Island to Annapolis with One Very Special Crew
AtlanticYachtDelivery.com

There are yacht trips… and then there are the ones you remember forever.

Last week I had the privilege of taking a stunning 58' SeaRay Sundancer from Aquebogue, NY, looping around Orient Point at the tip of Long Island and pushing through some heavy Long Island Sound seas. But this time, I had precious cargo aboard: Reece, Sarah, little Hank, and of course the adorable Sailor.

Despite the 4–6 footers tossing us around, this Tennessee crew handled it like seasoned mariners. We made our way safely into Liberty Landing Marina for a relaxing afternoon and a day in NYC. Watching Hank and Sailor explore the boat reminded this old captain of when my boys were that age… they definitely softened me up.

Day two brought a break in the weather and smooth sailing toward Cape May. Cruising down the Jersey Shore, I was able to point out familiar landmarks from Sandy Hook to Atlantic City to our visitors from Knoxville. Even better—we passed right through a local fishing fleet and stumbled on Sedge-N-Sea Charters, where Captain Tom Jr. (my son) and Captain Frankie were out on the water. Proud Dad moment.

After a night at Canyon Club Marina and a great dinner at The Lobster House, we pushed north through the Delaware Bay, Delaware River, and into the C&D Canal. The forecast was building fast… and sure enough, once we got into the Chesapeake, we were facing another round of 4–6 foot seas and stiff winds. But with cautious throttle work and an eye on the comfort of my precious crew, we pushed through safely and arrived in beautiful Annapolis, Maryland.

This gorgeous 58’ Sundancer will eventually be trucked to Knoxville, Tennessee, where she’ll spend her life on the smooth waters of the Tennessee River. And let me tell you—she’ll never see seas like this again!

When Sarah later asked Hank what his favorite part of the entire trip was, his answer was instant:
“The BIG WAVES!”
(Spoken like a future captain!)

Best wishes to Reece, Sarah, Hank, and Sailor on your new yacht and your adventures ahead. It was an absolute honor to bring her home for you.
