For Saturday and Sunday 20, 21 July, the National Weather Service is predicting high temperatures for all areas of the District. With the humidity, the heat index is predicted to be 100 - 104 F.
If you have activities planned for Saturday or Sunday, it is advised you err on the side of caution and stand down.
Please do not risk your health or the health of others by holding your outdoor activity in extreme heat.
It is better to cancel your patrol, VE day, Outreach event, etc. than to have a serious illness occur with one of our members.
While our missions to the boating public are vital to their safety, the safety of our members is of paramount importance. Your dedication to all of our missions is well appreciated.
In all cases, please stay in air conditioned areas as much as possible and keep well hydrated.
