201,901 miles. One year. One Indian Pursuit. And a cause bigger than the ride.

For the latest Forge The Ride Featured Rider interview, I had the opportunity to sit down with Pat Cornell, better known as VROOM Old Man.

We talked about his incredible journey, the challenges, the people he met along the way, and most importantly, WHY he did it — raising awareness and funds for Myotonic Dystrophy.

The full interview is now live on the Forge The Ride YouTube channel! I’ll also be sharing clips from our conversation over the coming days for those who prefer shorter videos.

Twist the throttle. Forge the ride.

We planned the route. The road changed the plan.

Wouldn’t have had it any other way.

GO OUT AND FIND YOURSELF.
4,100 miles in 8 days from GA to CO to Moab and back. This stretch in Utah was worth every mile to get there.
Where should we ride next?

Long day yesterday, but we covered some ground.

Started at Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, where we had to leave a little Forge The Ride paint on the cars. 🤘 Then made a stop at Tee P*e Curios in Tucumcari for some classic Route 66 history.

A couple quick facts:
• Cadillac Ranch was created in 1974 — 10 Cadillacs buried nose-first in the Texas dirt. Visitors have been adding their own layers of spray paint for decades.
• Tee P*e Curios started as a Gulf gas station in the 1940s. Its iconic teepee entrance was added in 1959 and it’s still one of the classic surviving stops on Route 66.

From there, we made a quick stop in Albuquerque before pushing through Navajo country and finally into Farmington, New Mexico.

Today we’re making some calls on direction with potential flood warnings over the next few days. The route may change, but that’s part of the ride.

Yesterday’s theme was Elvis and gunshots. Today’s was remembrance, rain, and the people you meet along the way.

We spent about three hours in Oklahoma City today and honestly didn’t worry much about the clock. We visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial, waited out some rain, met some cool people, talked motorcycles, and eventually pointed the bikes west again.

One of my favorite things about traveling by motorcycle is the random people you meet along the way. Today we met a few of them, handed out some Forge The Ride stickers, checked out a badass chopper — and learned something new.

Apparently bikers have our own version of Jeep ducks.

We got HOGGED. 🐷😂

Rolled into Amarillo late tonight, and that’s perfectly fine. Cadillac Ranch in the morning, then we point west again toward New Mexico.

The roads are the reason for the trip. The stuff you never planned is what gives you the stories.
