What an incredible day at Morning Star Baptist Church in Gwynn Oak! The Backpack Giveaway and Health Expo earlier this month brought students, families, and educators together for a fantastic kickoff to the school year, complete with free backpacks, educator totes, haircuts, and more.

We were thrilled the Baltimore Red Line team could be part of this community celebration. Our team was on-site to connect with neighbors, and we proudly donated about 100 crayon boxes, rulers and pens to help our local students and educators start the year off right. Thank you to everyone who stopped by!

Congratulations to our Summer Interns on completing this year's internship program! 🎓

Over the last six weeks, Red Line Interns gained transportation planning experience and completed a Capstone project focused on station area planning from a youth perspective.

We wish them continued success in their academic and career journeys.

Our Summer Interns have been busy this month! 🚍

They visited a bus maintenance facility to see firsthand how Maryland Transit Administration vehicles are stored and maintained and toured the proposed Red Line corridor to learn more about the communities it will serve, transportation planning, and infrastructure.

They also visited Metro Forward where they learned more about the Metro Integrated Command and Communications Center, transit operations, and the many career opportunities available within the transportation industry.

These experiences offered a valuable look at how behind-the-scenes work keeps our transportation systems running smoothly and how projects move from concept to reality.

Our new summer interns recently sat down with Red Line Project Director Caitlin Tobin and other project leaders and team members for a meet-and-greet focused on career growth, project delivery, and the future of Baltimore’s transportation.

It was a great opportunity to connect and learn.

Antonio Santos and Duane Robertson are both seniors at Morgan State University studying engineering.

Throughout the summer, they'll gain hands-on experience, learn from transportation professionals, and contribute to Red Line communications and planning.

Our newest teammates have officially joined the roster! Please join us in welcoming our new summer interns as they begin gaining hands-on experience across our organization.

This year nine students from Edmondson-Westside High School, Patterson High School, and Woodlawn High School will participate. As well as two college assistants from Morgan State University.

We're excited to see what they'll accomplish.
