SereNole Lodge: The House that Jack Built

SereNole Lodge: The House that Jack Built SereNole Lodge: "The House that Jack Built"
A Living Museum and Legacy of
Jack and Joyce Wingate back in the early 70's.

The real log house that my parents, Jack and Joyce Wingate built over a period of 10 years is itself a historical 'relic'. Built from old growth Cypress and Juniper from Telogia Swamp, to***co barns and warehouses from Attapulgus, Havana, Taylor's Crossing and Quincy, 11x16x20 ft beams that came from the Black Forest of Germany..they were used as packing crates for the first carpet looms brought h

ere by American Fibers Inc. Other old log homes were torn down and the useable lumber was included in this house. Hundreds of man hours by my Dad, friends, neighbors, craftsmen and the young men that worked at our fishing lodge were required to make this huge place a home. They moved in Dec 10th, 1986 and my Father passed away two days before their 25th anniversary of living here. It's been a work in progress and has evolved into a museum of sorts for the many Indian artifacts, war relics and family heirlooms he and my Mother have collected over their lifetime. It was Daddy's greatest wish that his legacy become a , state recognized, historic site and museum. My goal is to see that dream realized. Thank you from the Wingate family.

There are new owners of Serenole Lodge as of this past spring. Jackson has met them and they seem good folks. They sure had a time getting the photos and memorobilia that went with the house back from the previous person.
They arent living here yet, but have a crew living there and working on the property to clean it up again outside and fix things that need fixing.
They arent sure what they are going to do, possibly a bed n breakfast/VRBO but they do plan on honoring Daddys memory and keeping it alive. So far we have good neighbors! Always a blessing.

HEY YOU ARTISTS OUT THERE I have some bundles of the tin roofing shingles that came off the old Faceville school for sale. There are about 10 to 20 in a bundle. Eash shingle is about 10x15 in. These have made great art pieces. Ive painted scenes on them as well as painting fun signs I sold under the name of "Tin Memories". Giving the history of the shingle on a paper attached to the back.
If any of you artists out there are interested, you have this week only to come get a bundle or twelve. $10 a bundle. Daddy bought them from the owners of the Faceville school that was torn down in 1975. He was going to use them on the roof of the log house. Mother changed his mind.🤣
