Today is Flood Distribution’s final day as a stand-alone venture. We’ve been given an opportunity to continue our mission of representing the very best beers, ciders and meads available in Texas, finding a partner in Dynamo Specialty Distributing. We think we’ll be able to achieve pretty extraordinary things together, with greater resources and the same commitment to quality, knowledge and passion. More to come on all of that very soon.

Flood was started with the intent of helping transform craft beer culture in Texas, following the end of craft distro pioneers Duff Distribution. We're quite proud of what we managed to pull off over the last decade, but we have to acknowledge that our ability to bootstrap a statewide craft-only operation like this came from our incredibly loyal and hardworking employees, beyond-patient and collaborative suppliers, and accounts willing to take a chance on (and make the effort to share) something special. And ultimately, none of it would have worked without all of y'all across Texas who were willing to explore, to support local, and to spend a little (or a lot) more on something of higher quality. There was no Flood without you.

We aren't going anywhere, just flying a different flag. Feel free to reach out to us for any needs, and we'll see you on Monday.

Thanks for living the dream with us. The best is yet to come.

Rounding out the Evil Twin Brewing NYC tour of Houston next week are two can't-miss events:

Monday 5/13, 7pm- Thistle Draftshop is hosting their first beer dinner in four years, with five beers paired with a custom built menu. Thistle's dinners offer a great experience at an unbeatable price, and we're thrilled to be their occasion for their comeback.

Wednesday 5/15, 6pm - to mark Jeppe's return to Houston Flying Saucer after 20 years (see the second picture for his last visit), the bar will be offering a flight of incredibly rare, and in some cases unique, barrel-aged offerings from the Great Northern Barrel series, plus an Anchorage collab we can't believe we had the chance to grab. These flights are very limited, so an early arrival is recommended.

Thistle Dinner tickets can be bought here:

The first ever Texas release of The Bruery Black Tuesday begins this week! This infamous BA Imperial Stout rests in bourbon and whiskey barrels for a little over a year, developing an exceptionally rich, thick and sophisticated complexity. Long regarded as one of the best and boldest imperial stouts since its introduction in 2009, we're thrilled to finally share a small drop with y'all - bottles and a very small number of kegs are shipping now

Today is the official release of Trillium Brewing Company Headroom Double IPA -- and six Texas bars are tapping the beer simultaneously with the Boston taprooms. Since it was first brewed in 2015, Headroom remains one of Trillium’s most coveted annual releases and their hoppiest offering, with each barrel laden with more than eight pounds of Galaxy and Mosaic. Last brewed in 2020, Headroom is now back and better than ever.

Find Headroom today at Houston Flying Saucer, Cobble & Spoke, The Bearded Monk and Craft Beer Cellar Dallas; and at The Growler Exchange and The Growler Bar & Kitchen tomorrow. It was kegged mere days ago, and is absolutely killer right now. This batch is draft only, so these spots are your one shot to try this locally this year.

This year’s batch of Headroom displays powerful aromas of pressed orange, lemon zest, and papaya with a burst of fresh grassiness. Rich flavors of candied peach and orange peel lead the palate with supporting notes of red grapefruit, ripe pineapple, white table grapes, and mango smoothies. As with previous years, Headroom is balanced with a full, rounded mouthfeel and a soft, creamy finish.

A brand new look for City Orchard, and with it comes the new Fresh Picked 8pk, featuring longtime favorites Mr Green, Cherry Red and Lavender - and exclusive to this mixed pack, Hazy Gold imperial cider. It's hazy and tropical with hints of mango and pineapple. Look for these on store shelves starting this week!

The Equilibrium Brewery / Parish Brewing Company collab Ghost in the Laboratory has arrived! This monster of a beer combines elements of EQ's Straight Outta The Laboratory with Parish’s DDH Ghost In The Machine, in DIPA form. Using a mashed up grain bill from both beers, EQ added a massive dose of Citra Incognito and hand-selected Citra T-90s on the hot side, followed by an insane amount of Citra LUPOMAX and more hand-selected Citra T-90s for the Double Dry Hop; all in all, it's the heaviest dry-hop in Equilibrium’s history.

Ghost In The Laboratory pours opaque and vivid yellow and has very strong aromas of mango and tropical nectar. The flavor is explosive with extremely saturated notes of mango smoothie, Grovestand Orange Juice with plenty of pulp, orange tang, tropical fruit cup, dank grass, and a rainbow melon creamsicle note.

Available in North Texas and Houston now, with a fresh follow-up batch coming to Central TX in two weeks!

Brasserie de Blaugies is one of the very few remaining literal farmhouse breweries in Belgium, producing hearty and flavorful beers in a tiny garage space since 1987. The brewery makes saisons using yeast from Brasserie Dupont, though they tend towards a warmer and fruitier character compared against Dupont's hop-driven dryness. Rustic and complex with lively carbonation from traditional bottle conditioning, these authentic farmhouse ales are worth seeking out and celebrating. To start, we have Saison D'Epeautre, an herbal and earthy spelt saison; and La Vermontoise, an Amarillo-hopped saison made in collaboration with Hill Farmstead.

Trillium Brewing Company makes their long-awaited Texas debut this week, with a limited but exciting drop of their much-celebrated hoppy offerings. We're thrilled to be working with one of the standard-bearers of the modern New England beer scene, and can't wait to share these beers with y'all!

Congress Street - Flagship American IPA highlighting the distinctively aromatic Australian Galaxy hop

Fort Point Strata - Trillium's flagship pale ale Fort Point works as a beautiful canvas for shining a spotlight on the array of aromatics that singular hops can express. This latest iteration explores Strata, a newer, exciting Pacific Northwest varietal.

DDH Trailside - The amped-up version of the original IPA with a double dose of Citra & Strata in the dry hop. Pouring a hazy, golden yellow, DDH Trailside is a fine-tuned take on the classic citrus-meets-tropical Trillium profile.

UPPERCASE - A twice dry-hopped Double IPA with flaked wheat, hopped primarily with Mosaic and supporting roles played by Galaxy, Citra, and Columbus. Look for overripe mango, pineapple and passion fruit aromas, with flavors of white wine, pine resin and grapefruit zest.
