Texas Transit Association-TTA To support the needs of Texas’ public transportation systems through statewide advocacy and education

The Texas Transit Association (TTA) was organized in 1986 as a 501 (c)(6), non-profit business league. TTA’s membership is composed of Texas metropolitan, small urban and rural transit agencies as well as private and public entities from across the United States. TTA’s purpose is to educate the people of Texas about issues affecting the public transit industry within the state. Additionally, TTA a

ctively supports public transportation in the State of Texas and works with members of the state legislature in the pursuit of additional resources to support public transportation. TTA is governed by a Board of Directors elected from the general membership to include five members each representing the metros, small urban and rural operators. In addition, three associate members are selected by the board. TTA’s Executive Committee is elected by the board from among its member-elected officers. This committee is composed of a President, two Vice Presidents, a Secretary and a Treasurer.

Today, on Rural Transit Day, we celebrate the dedicated rural transit agencies, operators, dispatchers, mechanics, and staff who work every day to connect their communities with essential services, healthcare, employment, education, and one another.
As we recognize their commitment, our thoughts are also with the many Texas communities impacted by the recent flash flooding. We extend our heartfelt support to the transit agencies, employees, first responders, and residents affected by this devastating event. Several rural transit providers have been forced to suspend or modify service as they respond to flooded roadways and unsafe travel conditions, demonstrating their continued commitment to protecting passengers and employees.
To our rural transit family across Texas: thank you for your resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication during challenging times. Your service is a lifeline for so many, and your efforts do not go unnoticed.
Please continue to stay safe, follow local emergency guidance, and support one another as communities recover.
Thank you to everyone who keeps Texas moving—even in the toughest of times.
