The Bonsai garden was beautiful and quietly serene and everything you’d want out of one. We met the Gardners pruning the trees and were able to ask them questions (he was gently using a Dremel tool to clean out the roots). Such precise work! While there are other gardens at this FREE botanical gardens, this was my favorite.

It was fun finding the Jiffy plant in Chelsea, MI.

The inside regular house tour of Meadow Brook Hall. Take the elevator!!!! It’s fascinating that the elevator was purchased for a different property and then used in the house. The woodwork is why you tour this house. So many fun details in every room. They definitely had personality.

Meadow Brook Hall: built in 1929 by Matilda Dodge Wilson (from Dodge money) is a 110 room Tudor style home built from everything she loved while touring Europe. There’s a golf course that they started, with golfing happening and they were setting up for a wedding by the fountain. Three types of tour options, and we already know we’re going back in the summer for the behind the scenes tour. Will show inside in next post.

For my next bird related post…this guy. This sound alllll morning from multiple windows around the entire camper. The best is when he is attacking the front door making me think I hear quiet knocking over and over and over. Trying to make dog understand he doesn’t need to bark while running at front door.

Been on baby bird watch for days….two of the baby killdeers have hatched. Twins of their parents. Mom and Dad are still guarding the nest which has survived two mows by fast moving large lawn mowers. Never knew birds would lay eggs in a hole in the ground before seeing them here.
