Here’s how I would describe this portal. Dark Universe definitely leans into spooky, but it doesn’t shove you into it face first like Halloween Horror Nights.

Here, you'll find creepy music, eerie scenery, roaming monsters and a few well-placed frights. Even the attractions have moments that might make you shriek.

But unlike Halloween Horror Nights, this is still a theme park land that's meant to be enjoyed by families. Take a look at the Monster Make-up Experience and the Frankenstein’s monster shaped pretzel.

If you've always had a soft spot for classic Universal monsters like Frankenstein’s monster or Dracula, or want a little thrill without committing to a full horror event, I think Dark Universe is a great place to start.

Does spooky and scary sound fun to you...or are you sticking to Super Nintendo World (or ahem...Disney’s Haunted Mansion?)

True fans won’t want to leave. Yes, there are only two attractions. But that's not really the point. Galaxy's Edge was designed to be explored and to make you feel like you’re actually in the saga. So be sure to hit the attractions but also:

Build a lightsaber.

Create your own droid.

Browse the marketplace.

Grab a blue milk.

Avoid Kylo Ren and the Storm Troopers.

Drink at Oga's Cantina.

If you're a BIG Star Wars fan, this isn't just another land in Hollywood Studios. It's the destination for that day in the park.

Based on your level of Star Wars fandom, how much time would you set aside for Batuu?

Some friendly advice for this event. A mistake I see often is people assuming Halloween Horror Nights is just a few really scary haunted houses with some creepy Halloween decorations around the park. It isn't.

From the moment you walk through the gates, Universal wants you to feel uneasy. Fog rolls through the streets. Scare actors seem to appear out of nowhere carrying chainsaws, brains, weapons, etc. The music, lighting and atmosphere all work together to keep you on edge. That's exactly why so many people love it.

But it's also why I tell clients to be honest about whether it's the right fit for everyone in their group. There's nothing wrong with deciding it's too intense for your child...or even for yourself. The goal isn't to prove you can handle it. The goal is to have a vacation everyone enjoys.

Thinking about a fall Universal vacation? Let's talk about whether Halloween Horror Nights belongs on your itinerary.

Fried pickles at a sushi restaurant? Have you ever noticed that the bigger the family, the harder it is to agree on dinner?

Somebody wants burgers.

Somebody wants sushi.

Somebody wants chicken fingers no matter where you go.

The Cowfish at Universal’s CityWalk somehow makes all of those people happy at the same table.

That's why I recommend it so often, especially to families with teenagers. Nobody feels like they "lost" the dinner vote, and trying something like Burgushi turns dinner into an event.

Finding restaurants for my clients that become more than just a meal is one of my goals. I want every vacation moment to have a memory you lock in. This is one of those places.

When you just can’t stand to leave them behind, Disney World’s got you. If leaving your dog at home is the hardest part of vacation, you have options.

Disney welcomes dogs (at an additional cost and with rules) at four resort hotels:

Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground

Each stay includes thoughtful touches like a Pluto welcome kit, pet relief areas and easy walking paths.

Just remember that dogs can't visit the theme parks or most public resort spaces, so it's important to understand the guidelines before you book.

Would bringing your dog make vacation more relaxing...or more work?

Would this make your itinerary? Level99 is now open at Disney Springs and it's packed with physical and mental challenge rooms that are perfect for families, teens and competitive adults.

Would this make your Walt Disney World itinerary? Why or why not?

Here’s how I’d tackle breakfast in Magic Kingdom. If you're heading straight for attractions at rope drop, don't let everyone get "hangry" by 10:00.

Magic Kingdom has some great grab-and-go breakfast options. Cheshire Café has sweet treats, Gaston's Tavern serves up giant cinnamon rolls, Friar's Nook has heartier breakfast choices, and Sleepy Hollow is hard to beat if you're craving Mickey waffles.

The trick is figuring out what fits your morning. Maybe you rope drop a few attractions first, then grab breakfast once the crowds start building. Or maybe your family needs food before anyone is ready to conquer Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

There's no wrong answer...just don't forget to eat, and I’ll be sure you know all of your options.

Are you a rope-drop-first family or a breakfast-first family?

Don’t overlook this one because Mickey doesn’t eat here. The Winnie the Pooh characters have such a calm, sweet way about them, and that can make a huge difference for kids who aren't quite sure about giant hugs from giant characters. Instead of waiting in a long line to find out if characters will be welcomed with open arms, try the Buffet with Character at Crystal Palace.

With a beautiful location in Magic Kingdom right in the heart of the park, it's easy to see why so many families make it part of every trip.

Sometimes the first character interaction sets the tone for every one that comes after it. Having the option to just wave and watch can help nervous kiddos warm up at their speed.

Visiting Italy sounds dreamy...until you have to plan it. I think a lot of people dream about visiting Italy. I also think a lot of people get overwhelmed trying to figure it all out.

That's what I love about Adventures by Disney. You can wander through Venice, stand in front of Michelangelo's David in Florence and even learn to make pasta on a farm near San Gimignano. Disney handles the hotels, transportation, guides and all those little logistics that can make international travel feel intimidating.

You still get an authentic Italian vacation (and all the access the Disney name provides). You just don't have to stress over planning every minute of it or wondering if the area you booked is a safe one.

What's the first place you'd want to visit in Italy?

It’s easy to make ticket mistakes. When Epic Universe first opened, it was mostly treated as its own separate destination. Now, some multi-day park-to-park tickets include Epic Universe! You could start the day in Marvel Super Hero Island and end in Donkey Kong Country.

If you have one day to park hop at Universal, where would you start and end?
