These truckers stepped up and saved him. 🫡

When someone needs help, sometimes strangers become heroes.

Early one morning in Michigan, police received reports of a man in distress on a bridge over Interstate 696. Officers quickly closed the highway and reached out to nearby semi-truck drivers with an important request: park beneath the overpass to provide safety support.

Thirteen truckers responded immediately. They lined up their rigs side by side and remained there for several hours while trained crisis negotiators worked with the individual. The trucks created a much safer situation, reducing any potential distance significantly.

The response worked. The person accepted help and was safely transported to receive medical care and support. According to police, this collaborative approach between law enforcement and truck drivers is something they've trained for, and truckers in the area have always been willing to assist.

Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police emphasized that the most important part of the story is that the individual chose to accept help and get the support they needed.
