We know a lot of people were looking forward to this and we really apologize.

Keep an eye on our page for season points and payouts to be posted soon and discussions on what next year may look like.

Hey everyone! Due to an scheduling conflict, we need to postpone the Saturday, October 18 TREC race.

We really apologize for the change.

We are thinking about Nov 8 for the reschedule date and this will be confirmed soon. Be sure to keep your eyes on the TREC page for more info.

Post race recap

Yesterday’s TREC race at Badlands Off-Road Park was a blast and we had a couple surprises too! Sophia Taylor competed for the first time ever in an off-road race in our Pro Truck Open (Unlimited) Class and did awesome! We also had a surprise guest, all the way from the California desert; Mr. Dave Cole himself!

The course was a little shorter than normal and according to OnX Off-Road ended up at 4.5 miles. We added a woods section, ran through the prairie field the opposite direction from what we normally do and cut out the long straights around the farm field. Even though the rain held off until after the race, there was no shortage of MUD. In typical Badlands fashion, there was a unique mixture of sand, dirt, broken oil cooler lines, dust, trees, hills, clogged fuel filters, mud and bumpers falling off. But this is what makes it all FUN right?

A big thank you goes out to Stan, Brandon and the whole crew at Branik Motorsports for making the trophies for our 2025 season! As usual, they look awesome!

Here is tomorrow’s TREC course at Badlands Off-Road Park brought to you buy onX Offroad !!!

If I had to briefly describe the course, I would say it’s like a day at the Spa. No, not because it’s easy, relaxing and you’re gonna get a foot massage. It’s because you are going to end up with some mud on your face!! At least the mud is only in a hand full of spots tho. Between mud holes there is dust… and some sand…

4.5 miles

The start is going to be a little different this time. We start where the giant S is.

The first lap will be slightly shorter than the subsequent laps. When you pass the stop and go check point, the race course goes left. Be sure to write that down in your pace notes, or tell your co-pilot or sumptin.

Weather report!

A little rain today and tomorrow is going to make for a PERFECT course! Just enough to keep the dust down (for 3 minutes)!

Don't forget:

When - Saturday July 26

Where - Badlands Off-Road Park

Race time - 6:30 pm Eastern time

Drivers meeting - 6:00 pm Eastern time at the timing trailer. Show up ready to race.

Sign up before 3:30 pm the day if the race at the Badlands check in counter.

Remember - Cash, check or money order only. Credit cards are not accepted.

Pit location is our same area and marked below with the RED X.

We are going out to set up the course and should be done by mid afternoon. I will post up an image of the course later today and will also have a GPX file available for anyone who wants it.

BE SURE TO PRE-RUN! WE ARE LOOKING TO CHANGE IT UP A BIT THIS TIME. *** Remember - DO NOT PRE-RUN AT RACE SPEED! Keep it slow, the park is open during the day!

🏁🏁🏁 RACE DAY 🏁🏁🏁

Last night was the first TREC race of the season and it was an awesome event! 7.1 miles of off-road fun mapped with OnX Off-Road led our racers around the North end of the Badlands with the fastest lap times coming in at just under 10 minutes!

We had a big storm Friday night that dropped quite a bit of rain, but by the second lap, the dust was back and you would have never known it rained a drop!

More important than the weather, there was an insane battle that lasted the entire event for 1st and 2nd in the Pro UTV Open class between Kolton Wilson and Jonathan Pfeffer! All 10 laps they were within SECONDS of each other with Pfeffer leading right until the end! Then, just before the checkpoint, Wilson took the lead and crossed the finish line in FIRST PLACE!

A HUGE THANK YOU GOES OUT TO Branik Motorsports for the trophies for the 2025 season! Everyone loved the new design!

Checks for the winnings will be mailed this week! I will post on this thread once they are in route. Photos will be posted soon! Jay Turnquist

Two days until race day!

Make sure you drop your name, race number and class in either this thread or the previous one if you are coming!

Registration cut off is 3 pm on Saturday.

Here are a few updates and reminders.

- Calling for a little rain tomorrow! Just enough to keep the dust down!
- Course will be ready tomorrow, End of day.
- I can share a GPX file that can be uploaded to your GPS unit Friday night. (Don’t ask ne how to upload it to your unit, I’m lucky to be smart enough to export it from mine!🤣🤣🤣)
- Pits are in the normal area indicated on the image in this post.
- Course overview is also included in this post.
- Course is marked with BLUE arrows with WHITE background.
- Racers and pit crew will need To sign in at the Badlands Pro Shop upon arrival.
- Driver meeting at the starting line at 6 pm sharp! Be ready To race!
- Green flag drops at 6:30.
- Race is 1.5 hours plus a lap.

The stop and go check point will be strictly enforced!

We are using the old timing system for this race.

** NEWS FLASH ** THIS JUST IN **

We have newly obtained spy photos from INSIDE the Branik Motorsports world headquarters! The team is hard at work putting the finishing touches on the trophies for next weeks TREC race!

While you are strategizing on the best way to bring home some of this super cool hardware, take a look at the preliminary info below about next weekend, Sat May 17.

Where - Badlands Off-Road Park / North end of Park

When - Race start time is appx 6:30 Driver meeting is 6:00. Be ready to race immediately following drivers meeting.

Duration is 1.5 hours plus one lap (stays light until about 9pm)

Pit location will be in the lower field (same as last year)

Please drop your name, class and race number below if you are planning on attending.

We will not be having a youth race.

Check in and pay entry fee at the Badlands Pro Shop.

We need to have your name, class and race number BEFORE 3 pm on Saturday of the race or we will not be able to get you into the timing system! Even if you think you MIGHT come, drop your info below. I would rather have you in the timing system and you not show up, then show up and not be in the timing system.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Hey everyone! We were hoping to kick off the TREC 2025 series next weekend but unfortunately, Mother nature has put half of our track under water! The entire prairie field west is flooded, including the start / finish line. The pit area is so muddy, it can't be used.

In addition, we have had a number of people who have stated they are unable to make it due to being the night before Easter.

* * * * These factors have led us to the difficult decision to cancel the April 19th TREC race. * * * *

A rescheduled race date will be announced soon.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Also, if anyone is interested, we are thinking about going kayaking...

Hi Everyone!

If you are planning on attending the April 19th TREC race, please respond to this thread or message us with the following information:

- Entry fees will be collected on site *** CASH OR CHECK ONLY ***
- Upon arrival, you will need to check-in at the Badlands Pro Shop (aka the Badlands store)

Registration cut of time is 12:00 PM Eastern time!
We need enough time to program your transponder.

As long as you post here that you are coming (aka pre-register), you can arrive at the Badlands later than 12:00 PM. We just need to know you are coming.

Drivers meeting appx 5:45 PM

Race will start appx 6 PM.

Course, starting line and pit location will be determined soon.

Course will be mapped on OnX and I can share a GPX file to be uploaded to other GPS devices.

Even if you think you 'MIGHT' make it, reply to this thread so we can enter you into the timing system.

Due to the complexity of the system, if you show up last minute, we will not be able to enter you into the timing software.
