Gay Boys’ Trip to Nashville 🎸🏳️‍🌈✨

12 Dads on the Go take on Music City!

🏡 Stay:

We’re booking a large Airbnb in Midtown, close to bars, and restaurants, and just a short ride from Broadway. Think sleek modern amenities, a rooftop deck for pre-gaming, and plenty of space for 12 fabulous guys to crash after a wild night.

Day 1: Arrival & Classy Dinner 🍽️🥃

Check-in & Chill – Settle into the Airbnb, pop some bubbly, and get into Music City mode.
Dinner at The Standard at the Smith House – A historic Nashville gem serving killer steaks, craft cocktails, and a swanky old-school vibe. Time to dress up and show off those dapper looks.
Nightcap in Midtown – Hit up The Patterson House, a speakeasy-style bar with delicious handcrafted cocktails for a smooth start to the trip.
Day 2: Broadway Takeover & Drunk Shenanigans 🍻🎶💃

Casual Brunch at Merchants Restaurant – Start with Southern comfort food & mimosas in a historic 1800s building on Broadway.
Drunk Afternoon Bar Hopping – We’re hitting Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar for rooftop views, live music, and a round (or five) of whiskey shots.
Broadway Blitz – Bar-hop between:
Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge – Iconic honky-tonk.
Kid Rock’s Big Ass H***y Tonk – Wild party scene.
Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row – Great for dancing.
Luke’s 32 Bridge – More rooftop action.
Late-night Eats – Someone will demand food at 2 AM, so Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is a must.
Day 3: Gay Bars & Drag Queens 🏳️‍🌈💃🔥

Lazy Day Explore 12 South – Chill at the Airbnb or check out Nashville’s trendy 12 South neighborhood for coffee and shopping.
Dinner & Drag Show – Head to Play Dance Bar for Nashville’s best drag performances and a full-on dance party.
More Gay Bars:
Pecker’s – Fun, low-key gay dive with karaoke.
Canvas Lounge – Artsy, queer-friendly vibes with great cocktails.
Final Night Out: Dance ‘til the sun comes up at TRIBE – Nashville’s upscale gay bar/lounge with strong drinks and even stronger eye candy.
Day 4: Recovery & Farewell Brunch 🥂🍳

Final Brunch at Liberty Common – French café vibes, mimosas, and beignets to soak up the weekend’s chaos.
Goodbyes & Departures – Leave with memories, hilarious stories, and possibly a cowboy hat you don’t remember buying.
This trip is all about southern charm, wild nights, and fabulous company. Let me know if you want to tweak anything—maybe a surprise experience or a custom itinerary doc? 🤠🏳️‍🌈🔥

Discovering Denver, Colorado
Mile High Adventures for Gay Men Over 50

Denver: where the air is thin, but the fun is thick. Whether you're into artsy afternoons, outdoor escapades, or gay nightlife that keeps you twirling into the wee hours, this city has a little something for every fabulous dad. And just wait until you hear about the incredible day trips! Here’s how to do Denver with style, sass, and just a dash of altitude-induced giddiness.

Altitude Adjustment: It’s a Thing
Before diving into Denver’s fabulous offerings, let’s address the elephant in the (high-altitude) room: the air here is thinner than a supermodel on a juice cleanse. At 5,280 feet above sea level, even the most seasoned daddies might find themselves a little winded after climbing a flight of stairs—or even just tying their shoes.

Pro tip: Stay hydrated, avoid heavy booze on your first day (yes, I know, but trust me), and consider carrying a small portable oxygen canister if you plan on hiking or cycling. Are you not ready to look like a sporty James Bond with your oxygen on the go? Head to one of Denver’s chic oxygen bars instead. These spots offer flavored oxygen (mint, lavender, eucalyptus!) that will make you feel like a new man in no time. Bonus: it’s also a fun, unique way to recover from a night out at Buddy’s.

What to Do in Denver
1. Pedal Power: Cycling the Mile High City

Denver is a cyclist’s paradise, with scenic trails and bike lanes crisscrossing the city. Start your day riding along the Cherry Creek River Walk, where you’ll glide past urban parks, trendy breweries, and locals who somehow make cycling in Patagonia gear look chic. If you’re feeling extra ambitious, rent an e-bike and tackle the entire city—just don’t blame me if the altitude has you gasping halfway through.

2. Dive into Denver’s Art Scene

The Denver Contemporary Art Museum is where creativity meets cool. Think big, bold exhibits that will make you ponder the meaning of life—or at least the price tag on that minimalist sculpture. Bonus: the museum’s design is an architectural dream, so your selfies will be museum-worthy too.

Where to Eat & Drink
1. Channel Your Inner Don Corleone at Gaetano’s

Step inside Gaetano’s, and you’re instantly transported to a 1950s Italian-American gangster movie. Red leather booths, dim lighting, and a menu full of classics like veal parm and martinis that pack a punch—it’s all here. Pro tip: Practice your best Marlon Brando impression before arriving. You’ll fit right in.

2. Dinner with a Side of History at The Officers Club

Located in Lawrie, this chic eatery combines vintage military vibes with modern cuisine. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a killer steak while pretending you’ve just returned from the frontlines of fabulousness. Order a bourbon cocktail to really lean into the theme.

Where to Stay
For accommodations as trendy as you, book a stay in RiNo (River North Art District). This neighborhood is bursting with boutique hotels, edgy street art, and more breweries than you can shake a stein at. Think industrial chic with a touch of LGBTQ+ flair. And yes, they’ll have free Wi-Fi for you to upload all those Insta-worthy shots.

Nightlife to Remember
1. Dancing Queens (and Kings) at Buddy’s

Buddy’s is the go-to gay club for a fun night out in Denver. Whether you’re sipping cocktails at the bar or busting a move on the dance floor, this spot delivers good vibes and great tunes. Bonus points if you hit the drag show—those queens don’t mess around.

2. Boot-Scootin’ at Charley’s

Ready to channel your inner cowboy? Charley’s is the LGBTQ+ country bar where line dancing is the main event. Don’t worry if you have two left feet; the crowd here is as friendly as it gets. Plus, the bartenders pour stiff drinks, which definitely help with the choreography.

Day Trips Worth the Drive
1. Brunch and Beauty in Breckenridge

Start your day with a scenic drive to Breckenridge, a charming mountain town just under two hours from Denver. Indulge in a fabulous brunch at a cozy local café (hello, mimosas!) while taking in views of the Rockies. Afterward, wander through the quaint shops or just bask in the alpine air like the mountain daddy you are.

2. White Water Rafting in Idaho Springs

Feeling adventurous? Head to Idaho Springs for some thrilling white water rafting. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned paddler, the rushing waters of Clear Creek will have you laughing, screaming, and maybe a little damp. Pro tip: Bring a waterproof bag for your phone—those rafting selfies are priceless.

3. Hike Luna Lake in Estes Park

For a more serene escape, take a trip to Estes Park and hike the trail around Luna Lake. This gorgeous spot offers breathtaking views of the Rockies, wildlife sightings, and the chance to clear your head while communing with nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy lakeside—you’ve earned it.

4. Brewery Hopping in Boulder

Finally, make your way to Boulder and spend an afternoon brewery-hopping along Main Street. With craft beer options galore and a vibrant downtown vibe, it’s the perfect way to sip your way through Colorado’s legendary brewing scene. Just be sure to Uber back to Denver if you sample too many IPAs.

Closing Thoughts
Denver and its surrounding gems offer the ultimate blend of outdoor adventure, cultural sophistication, and gay-friendly fun. From cycling along the river to line dancing at Charley’s, and from brunching in Breckenridge to rafting in Idaho Springs, there’s never a dull moment in the Mile High City.

And remember, the altitude is part of the charm—embrace it, oxygen and all!

Share your favorite Denver moments or your own travel tips in the comments. Until next time, keep exploring, keep twirling, and keep living your best dad life.

Sun, Sea, and Southern Sass for Gay Men Over 50

When you think of Florida, you might picture Miami’s glitz or Orlando’s theme parks, but let me introduce you to Jacksonville—a city where charm, culture, and cocktails meet the Atlantic Ocean. For the discerning gay traveler over 50, Jacksonville is like that unexpected hookup: low-key, rough around the edges, but absolutely worth it.

Why Jacksonville?
Jacksonville, or "Jax" as the locals lovingly call it, is Florida’s underdog—a sprawling city that serves up 22 miles of pristine beaches, vibrant culture, and a surprisingly strong LGBTQ+ community. It’s the perfect mix of laid-back vibes and lively experiences for dads who love to relax but still want to keep it fabulous.

What to Do in Jacksonville
1. Shake the Sand Out of Your Flip-Flops

Start your trip at Jacksonville Beach, where the sunrise will make you feel like a walking Pride flag. Or head to Huguenot Memorial Park, where you can watch surfers and seabirds while basking in the Florida sun (don’t forget the SPF—this daddy doesn’t do wrinkles).

If you’re feeling adventurous, the Timucuan Preserve offers hiking trails that are as dramatic as your favorite ex—just with better views and less drama.

2. Explore Riverside and Five Points

These quirky, artsy neighborhoods are basically Jacksonville’s answer to gay brunch—fun, eclectic, and buzzing with life. Stop by Riverside Arts Market for local crafts, food, and music, and hit up River and Post downtown for dinner with a view that’ll make your Instagram followers swoon.

Pro tip: Start with the craft cocktails at their rooftop bar—you’ll feel fancy without emptying your retirement fund.

3. Get Your Culture On

Jacksonville knows how to keep things classy. The Cu**er Museum of Art & Gardens combines beautiful artwork with gardens that are straight out of a fairytale. And if you’re feeling nerdy, the Museum of Science and History (MOSH) will give you a great excuse to say, “Who knew Jacksonville was this interesting?”

Where to Stay
Stay in the heart of Riverside for easy access to the action. Boutique options like Hotel Indigo blends style and comfort with that "yes, I’m a gay man with taste" energy. Want something quieter? There are plenty of charming Airbnbs where you can play house with whoever’s lucky enough to travel with you.

Where to Eat & Drink
1. Brunch, Baby, Brunch

The most important meal of the gay day! Head to Maple Street Biscuit Company for biscuits so good they might make you reconsider keto. Or try Southern Grounds—their coffee is as smooth as a twink’s DM slide.

2. Dinner with a View

Forget stuffy restaurants—River and Post in downtown Jacksonville is the place to be. With rooftop cocktails and a menu full of fresh, fabulous dishes, it’s the kind of spot where you feel effortlessly sophisticated, even if you’re just there for the fries.

3. Nightlife to Remember

After a day of exploring, keep the night alive Hardwick's. From karaoke nights to drag shows, this place is a one-stop shop for fun. For something a little more relaxed, Park Place Lounge is like your favorite dive bar but with better lighting and friendlier patrons.

Tips for Gay Travelers Over 50

Pace Yourself: Jax may be chill, but there’s a lot to do—don’t try to cram it all in one trip.

Stay Safe: While Jacksonville is LGBTQ+-friendly, always check reviews for local businesses to ensure the vibe matches your expectations.

Pack Light: Between the beach and casual dining, you won’t need more than your favorite Hawaiian shirt, comfy shorts, and a good pair of sandals.

Closing Thoughts
Jacksonville may not have the flash of Miami, but that’s what makes it so special. It’s unpretentious, fun, and full of surprises—just like the best travel experiences. So pack your bags, grab your favorite travel buddy, and head to Jax for a trip that’s equal parts laid-back and fabulous.
