Stop rolling down your garage door in shame and hiding it from your neighbors.

Your garage can be just as beautiful as the inside of your home - and it can double as a smart staging and storage space for so many everyday items.

It often gets pushed to the bottom of the to-do list, but it’s the first thing you see in the morning before heading out - and the first thing you see after a long day.

All this to say: it’s gorgeous and sunny outside (and not too hot yet), so stop putting off organizing your garage. It’s easier than you think - trust me, I’m an expert 🙂.

Organizing doesn’t always mean letting go—it can also mean finding new purpose in the pieces that matter most. Sometimes the best storage solutions are already in your space. We gave this garage a fresh, functional feel by repurposing a vintage desk, an old kitchen table, and classic shelving the client loved and wanted to hold onto.

Here are the playroom rules I swear by:

✔ Keep it budget-friendly – Kids outgrow toys fast. Don’t overspend on fancy storage solutions when simple works best.

✔ Make clean-up easy – If kids can take toys out easily, they’re more likely to put them back (win-win!).

✔ Design for how they play – Organize the space around their interests so they actually play with their toys.

From the very beginning our tagline has always been “creating beautiful and *functional* spaces for people to love and live in”, and under the kitchen sink is no exception. This space - with all the plumbing and utilitarian uses - is often deemed the eyesore of the kitchen but fear not! This client hired fantastic movers to move her into her new gorgeous condo. However, no matter how good your movers are they are not organizers and their job is simply to unpack your boxes. That means often times items will end up in spaces they don't belong.
These before and after photos perfectly highlight the difference between movers and organizers. The movers unpacked all her dishes and rarely-used serving ware into her pantry, and placed her never-used china on the lowest easy-to-reach shelves. All her food and pantry items were placed in upper cabinets in her kitchen, which for us short girlies is the kiss of death since that means groceries are virtually impossible to reach.
They also unpacked all her backstock kitchen items into her laundry room, which in theory would be a good idea but 1) she had room in her pantry for these items and 2) the laundry room had limited space.
We did a MAJOR cabinet shuffle, switched things around, and added beautiful organizing products. Now all her often-used items are in easy-to-reach spots and her rarely-used items are placed in cabinets that are still accessible but higher up and not taking up valuable cabinet space.

Check out TIDY's new yard signs!

Moving to suburbia from NYC was a major life change that, two years later, I'm still adjusting to. But it has been an amazing experience: meeting new clients, networking with other organizers, and growing my business.

It took me a year before I noticed that the pieces of cardboard flapping in the wind were actual signs, and obviously, since I am fully embracing suburban life, I had to jump on the yard sign bandwagon. Before you head out to the grocery store shop your pantry! Check your backstock bins, refill your canisters, and restock your bins.

Shopping your pantry helps reduce the amount you spend on groceries, ensures you don't have food going bad, and that you are using older items first. I won't promise you rainbows and ponies but shopping your pantry will ensure that your pantry doesn't devolve into an overstuffed mess filled with expired food where you can't find anything.
