🍕 **A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS AT 202 S JEFFERSON STREET… ❤️**

Hello Athens!

For those who don’t know me yet, my name is **Max Villagómez**, and after a long journey, I’m incredibly grateful to say that I’m returning once again to a pizza place and a community that have meant a lot to me.

When I first came here, I found much more than a restaurant. I found a community that welcomed me, supported me, and gave me the opportunity to grow.

And today, I come back with the same energy — but with bigger dreams.

📍 **202 S Jefferson St has a history in Athens.**

Many of you may remember this location through different chapters and different names over the years — **Little Texas, Rodeo’s Cantina, Mozza Pizza, Hermozza Pizza** — and now we are honored to begin its next chapter:

🍕❤️ **GABRIELA’S PIZZA KITCHEN & BAR**

We are not here to erase the history of this place.

We want to **respect it, preserve what people have loved about it, and build something even better for the future.**

Our goal is simple:

Great pizza.
Great food.
Great drinks.
Great service.
And a place where families, friends and the Athens community feel welcome.

Those of you who already know Gabriela’s Latin Fusion know how seriously we take hospitality, flavor and taking care of our guests.

Now we want to bring that same heart and commitment to **Gabriela’s Pizza Kitchen & Bar**.

This community has given me and my family so much, and I am deeply grateful.

My hope is that **202 S Jefferson Street continues serving Athens for many, many years to come.**

🛠️ **We are currently in transition.**

You will see us making some renovations, improving the restaurant, working on the menu and gradually updating our Facebook, Instagram, Google Business Profile, website and other platforms to reflect the new Gabriela’s concept.

But one thing is very important:

**WE ARE NOT CLOSED. ❤️🍕**

We are OPEN and ready to serve you throughout the transition.

We are excited to announce our next Artist of the month - Lee Shepherd!! Her art will be for sale in the shop during the months of July and August.

Lee is a self taught multidisciplinary artist based here in Athens, Alabama. Though primarily working in water color and oil, she also enjoys acrylics, mixed media, and collage. Lee is primarily a landscape artist often inspired by the bucolic fields and nearby lakes, as well as the delightful ever-changing skys in this charming area.

Lee has displayed and sold her art at High Cotton Arts where she first started teaching a children’s art class. She currently teaches her classes at the Scout House which is sponsored by the Athens Art league, a nonprofit organization that promotes accessible art education and diverse cultural events along with visual and performing arts. Lee has volunteered for the AAL for over 10 years.

Lee had the great privilege of painting half of the Bee mural on the Athens Farmers Market restroom building along with fellow artist Anna Tominack. Lee and Anna have also been painting the Athens children’s room window murals reflecting the summer reading program for five years. Their work can be seen year around at the library. Lee also paints window murals on the Hendrix-Patton Furniture & Appliance store and for Richardson & Deemer Insurance on Washington Street.
