Thank you to everyone who came out for 5th Saturday lunch and to Batter Axe Waffles for keeping us fed.

It was a beautiful day for flying, we met several of our airport neighbors and loved seeing all the all kiddos checking out the airplanes.

Also, let me just say if you see Batter Axe Waffles in town, GET ONE!

It’s daylily season!

This is the first summer for our Flight Garden at the McMinn County Airport and the daylilies have been putting on a show.

All the flowers and shrubs in the Flight Garden are Tennessee natives or have fun aviation themed names. Every thing is labeled and hopefully soon I’ll have a sheet telling about each plant. Stop by the airport and take a look.

All our daylilies were purchased from Oakes Daylilies in Corryton, Tennessee. This weekend is then annual daylily festival if you want to see 1000’s of daylilies in bloom!

Congratulations to Brylan King on his FIRST SOLO today at MMI! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What makes Brylan’s story even more special is that he soloed in his great-grandfather’s, Buch Malone, Piper Arrow.

Brylan has been “flying” with Butch since he was a little boy in this very airplane. Today Butch and Doris were there to watch him SOLO!

Bryan’s Flight Instructor is Kaden Hicks.
