If you have been in manufacturing long enough, you know the difference between a vendor and a partner.

A vendor processes orders.

A true partner helps you navigate growth, pressure, deadlines, change, unexpected problems, staffing challenges, freight issues, fulfillment headaches, shifting timelines, and the thousand little details that can either keep your operation moving or create unnecessary stress.

That should sound familiar. Because we're betting that the way you help others is as a partner, especially if you're doing it right.

At Ashtonne Packaging, we want to be a partner. Not a vendor. That approach has to be felt deeply, down through the ranks.

We recently shared a blog reflecting on culture, relationships, mentorship, people, and why strong teams can build great partnerships.

Here it is again in case you missed it. https://www.ashtonne.com/blog/excellence-starts-with-great-people

We call it a packaging analysis. That's exactly it.

We'll take a look at what you're doing and give you some feedback. No pressure.

Of course, we do this to see if there are ways that we can help. But that's the beauty of it.

No risk and no strings attached. Learn more: https://www.ashtonne.com/surveys/packaging-concerns-eliminated

We've been talking a lot about relationships lately. So we wanted to check, to make sure we're walking the talk.

Check out this video from over 2 years ago.

Yes, my friends, the talk is being walked!

Don't underestimate packaging, especially with fragile or delicate items.

A product may survive production perfectly, only to be damaged during shipping, warehousing, retail handling, or fulfillment because the packaging strategy was never built for real-world conditions.

As companies grow, those small damage rates can quickly become expensive through returns, lost trust, wasted labor, freight costs, and unhappy customers.

Good packaging is about appearance. It is also at least as much, if not more, about protection, consistency, efficiency, and customer experience. Creeping up on or have more than 20 employees? In manufacturing, that's where stuff starts to change.

Communication changes. Fulfillment changes. Inventory management changes. Packaging needs to change.

The systems and partners that worked during earlier growth stages may suddenly not fit the new reality of the business.

Scale creates opportunity, but it also creates operational pressure.

At Ashtonne Packaging, we wrote about this very thing: Check it out here: https://www.ashtonne.com/blog/when-growth-changes-everything-including-packaging

Bet you didn't see that coming.

But we likely did, especially if it involves packaging, logistics, shipping, and inventory.

When you've been around as long as we have, you learn from the surprises.

And we're happy to share. Sharing here: https://www.ashtonne.com/blog/hidden-hurdles-packaging-blog

If your packaging partner is just filling orders, you’re going to feel it.

It's that way in just about any business. Transactional is one way.

The companies that move forward consistently aren’t working that way. They’re aligned with their partners. They communicate early. They solve things before they become problems.

Our CEO, Chad Honaker, talked about this on the Purpose Under Pressure podcast, and it led to a bigger conversation worth sharing.

Business or Pleasure? How about both? We wrote a short article about what Chad shared on the podcast, and how relationships actually drive success.

Strong cultures are built over time by people who care deeply about customers, teammates, relationships, and doing things the right way.

In manufacturing and packaging, it is easy to focus only on equipment, systems, production, and pricing. But it's great people working together toward a common goal that fuels real growth.

At Ashtonne Packaging, we believe our team has always been the foundation of our success. The recent retirement of longtime team member and sales leader Rich Wise inspired us to reflect on the kind of workplace culture that helps companies grow stronger over time.

It's about people.

People who communicate well, solve problems under pressure, mentor others, build trust, and genuinely care about helping customers succeed.

Those kinds of people shape a company's future.

We recently shared a blog about the importance of strong teams, meaningful relationships, and the kind of company culture that creates long-term success for both employees and customers alike.

Every day on this planet is spent without someone who was there for us before.

Someone who made a difference for us.

Who fought for us. Who paved a way for us.

Who died for us.

Many we know and love. Many we'll never get a chance to meet.

But we will never forget their sacrifice.

Did you know that roughly 1 in 5 returns made in the US are due to damage during transit?

That's costing you in refunds, make goods, warranty claims and more. Not to mention the costs of shipping.

AND...it can cost you a customer.

You've got to plan for rough transit.

Custom packaging and shipping methods can actually save you money.

Here's an article we wrote about that, and it sheds light on some issues. https://www.ashtonne.com/blog/custom-packaging-to-reduce-shipping-damages
