Will be taking coat, blanket and sleeping bag donations, only please no other items.

Monday through Friday October 14-18, longer if needed, from 10 am until 6pm. There is a walk through gate to the right of the gated entrance, that will be open to anyone to bring donations, there will be several very large labeled crates for you to drop in. Feel free to park in the grass. We have employees coming and going all hours and it is well lit and safe. There may not be anyone outside at the crates when you drop, because I’m working inside, but your items are safe. We then will sort and bag items and get to areas in need. Please only bring New or gently used CLEAN items.

Local employer in the Asheville area looking for skilled mechanics to join their team. immediate opening for knowledgeable and hardworking Diesel Mechanic to be part of our team preforming preventive maintenance and repairs on our 35 truck fleet. Our Diesel Technicians generally assist in the repair and diagnosis of major and minor components or remove/replace major components of various truck and trailer equipment.

Expectations of our Diesel Technicians include the ability to diagnose and repair the following with little or no supervision:
*Preventive Maintenance Service
*Hydraulic/ Air Brake systems
*Clutches
*Electric Systems
*Heating/ Air Conditioning Systems
*Instruments and Gauges
*May require work after hours including emergency call out for breakdowns

Qualifications and Skills:
*To qualify, you MUST be at least 18 years of age.
* Must have an acceptable MVR.
* Must pass a criminal background check.
* Have your own Tools.
2 - 4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance but not a must can train
Vocational/Technical or certification preferred
Proficiency in the use of shop tools required
A valid drivers license is required - current CDL license with air brake certification preferred, willingness to acquire CDL
if you do not have one
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
Drug tests required

If you know a truck drive tell them to watch their backs. My husband works at Ingles Warehouse and they now have black mountain police patrolling the parking lot because they have people following the drivers in trying to get stuff off the trailers plus they had the K-9 unit's out last night because there were people hiding in the woods waiting to try and break into the trailers that were parked. Be careful, people are getting stupid.......even more so.

Let me put this out there, I’m sure no one has thought about. People keep saying, stop people from traveling from state to state, city to city county to county, then STOP buying out all the food and supplies you will not use for 6 months. People do not understand that these truck drivers are going into the states and cities that have some of the highest cases of sickness. When the drivers get sick they cannot continue, you are wearing them out. FMCSA has lifted the rules on hours they can drive, so some are not stoping, eating, or resting, even some of the best drivers cannot keep this up. I hope when all this is over, people have a different outlook on truck drivers and what they sacrifice. I pray that all of my drivers, mechanics and family stay safe and well, and know how much we appreciate and love them!!! T&d Trucking rolls on!!!
