What a group and what a stretch of country.

Medicine Bow gave us miles of trail, wildlife at every turn, water worth jumping into and long nights around camp. We hiked, we swam, we learned a few things, and we walked away with a whole batch of new friends.

And the food. Huge thanks to Jesse Houston of Switchback Supper Club, whose meals were incredible yet again - though at this point, we really shouldn’t be surprised.

This was our largest group yet, and that only made it better. None of it happens without every single person who shows up, pitches in, and makes Fernweh what it is.

Thank you all, we can’t wait to get back on the trail!

Sometimes the time around the fire is what we remember most. We’re headed back to Wyoming for our largest expedition yet, and we’re stoked for plenty of nights like this around the fire, wide-open terrain to explore, and the incredible country around Medicine Bow. See you all out there soon.

Hearing Switchback Supper Club call out that dinner is served might be the best sound of the whole weekend.

We cannot say enough good things about the work Jesse and the team do. It is one thing to gather people around a table. It is another when the food is good enough that nobody wants to leave it, and the stories keep going long after the plates are cleared.

We will not be forgetting that meal at The Big Thing anytime soon. Already counting down to the next one.
