Before you travel abroad, don’t rely on old info or what someone casually told you. Things change. Always check travel.state.gov/destination before every trip:

- Passport validity: Make sure your passport isn’t close to expiring and meets the rules for your destination.
- Visa or ETA requirements: Some countries now require an ETA or a visa, even if they didn’t before.
- Local laws and prohibited items: Especially medications. Legal in the U.S. doesn’t always mean legal abroad.
- Travel Advisory level: Each country has a Level 1–4 with details you should know.
- STEP enrollment: Sign up so the U.S. embassy can reach you with safety alerts during your trip.

Have you heard of it? 👀

I recently started learning more about these Portuguese islands, and now I'm wondering why I didn't know about them sooner!

Often called the Hawaii of the Atlantic, the Azores are filled with volcanic landscapes, lush green scenery, natural hot springs, dramatic coastlines, waterfalls, and incredible whale watching. 🌋🌿🐋

This isn't a Caribbean-style all-inclusive destination. The Azores are much more about exploring, experiencing nature, enjoying local food and culture, and getting out to see the islands.

Honestly, that sounds pretty amazing too.

If you’ve ever stood in a TSA line wondering why the process feels stuck in 2009… good news. Three new bills just passed the U.S. House that could make your travel days smoother and faster.

Here’s what this means for YOU:
• Shorter lines: TSA will finally be required to use security fees for actual security upgrades. (wild concept, I know)
• Fewer re-checks: Some international travelers with connections in the U.S. may get to skip the second TSA screening.
• Better crowd flow: TSA can set up extra screening areas when airports get busy.
