Winter was not good to us. We lost 7 out of 9 hives, 3 within the last two weeks. I’m pretty sure they starved because we did not do our due diligence in the fall. Two hIves were infested with small hive beetle and I think one had a high mite load. We will take that as a learning tool and prepare better this year. We have two very strong hives coming out of winter, one has about 6 frames of brood already going!
