Visiting Amazing Arcola

It’s Festival Friday! We’re taking a look back at September’s Broomcorn Festival, with one of Arcola’s favorite traditions: the broom sweeping contest.

There’s a lot more to this competition than what meets the eye, and every contestant brings something different to the board. Take a look back at this year’s action!

On the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are celebrating the next generation of Arcola.

Nearly half of the students in the Arcola School District are Hispanic. These students are growing up, learning, and building their futures right here in our community. They are an important part of Arcola today and will help shape our community for years to come.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Broomcorn Festival happen! From our staff and vendors to the volunteers and behind the scenes helpers, we appreciate all the time and effort that went into bringing our community together for another great weekend.

It takes a lot of hands to make a tradition like this possible, and we couldn’t do it without you!

Now THAT is what we like to see — downtown Arcola firing on all cylinders!

A huge thank you to everyone who cruised into town for Pop the Top, shopped local, stopped into the businesses that kept their doors open and took a spin through the Broom Palace while you were here.

We loved seeing so many people walking downtown, exploring, shopping and helping keep things moving in the right direction.

Come for the cars. Stay for the shops. Tour a palace made of brooms. You know… normal Arcola things.

Thanks for helping make downtown feel fully fueled!
