ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES VARY DAILY:
• Assist in the moving of equipment and materials around the boatyard
• Perform general boat repair, maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: power washing, scrapping, waxing/buffing, bottom painting and zinc replacement
• Manage hauling, launching, and blocking of boats, place boat stands properly
• General building/shop and yard maintenance, grounds maintenance and marina cleanliness
• Operate yard machinery including, power tools, grinders, power washer, etc.
• Running errands, picking up supplies
• Assisting with docking and tying up vessels as needed
• Work closely with the Yard Foreman and assist fellow crew members (mechanics and welders) as needed
• Additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested
QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience preferred, but not required
• Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs
• Ability to ascend and descend a ladder, prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, standing
• Ability to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spaces
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
• Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
• Mechanical skills/operating experience preferred
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Detail oriented and ability to multitask are essential skills
• Ability to follow regulatory guidelines and safety standards
• Ability to operate small engines, working near or in the water. Boat Operators license is a plus
• Heavy equipment operation Skid Steer, Excavator, large Travelift, & Misc. experience is a plus
