The New ES44 is the evolution of the successful Kernan/Courable custom designed 44 foot Wasabi. Earning its pedigree, Wasabi took home a string of bullets in the IRC class at the St. The ES44 promises to take this pedigree one step further. She is designed to be exciting to race around the bouys while offering a comfortably fast and stable platform for offshore races. The New ES44 fits ideally into the top end of the IRC 2 class and can be race by a crew of 9.

Last Saturday, big breeze and sloppy sea state. Good test run for the new ES 44. Third time out with sails up, gusts to 25. The boat felt great. Looking forward to more trials and testing this weekend.

We went out for our first test sail today on the ES 44. Worked on rig tune and looked at sails for 2 to 3 hours and then had the Sailing World Judges on board for their evaluation. The boat felt good and was extremely responsive in 6 to 9 knots of breeze. We were very impressed with the upwind performance.
