We know this dolphin is part of a long-term local research project, but we don’t know its story… yet.

The dolphins around Anna Maria Island are year-round residents, and many are known individually by researchers SarasotaDolphinResearchProgram

They thought they were booking an island hopping tour.
A little snorkeling. A little exploring. Maybe a few shells.

Instead…

They slipped into the crystal-clear waters of Egmont Key and found themselves surrounded by an entire herd of manatees!

No zoo.�No aquarium.�No barriers.
Just a handful of people sharing the water with wild Florida manatees on their own terms.

After the trip, the family messaged us to say it was something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.
And honestly, we get it.

Because every now and then, nature tears up the script and delivers something far bigger than the tour you thought you booked.
This was one of those days. 🩵🌊

🩵 Manatee reminder: We never approach, feed, touch, or chase manatees. Our guests kept a respectful distance throughout this encounter, even when the manatees chose to come closer out of curiosity. Wildlife is always best enjoyed wild.
