The leaves are changing and many are falling to the ground. What a wonderful reminder that fall is here! There are acorns, black walnuts, and chestnuts everywhere. We recently discovered these edible Chinese Chestnuts. Be careful! Their outer husk is prickly, just like a little green hedgehog all curled up! Make sure you do not confuse them with the look-a-like poisonous buckeyes.

Michigan Lilies are in bloom! This gorgeous plant is native to our area. They can be found planted in perennial borders or along ponds and streams. Swallowtail butterflies love them, as do hummingbirds and many other butterflies. Look for this beautiful flower around you!
