Notice is hereby provided that Runway 17/35 is scheduled to be closed Friday, May 8, 2026, at 7pm and will reopen on May 9, 2026, at 7am. Please monitor published NOTAMs for the airport to verify this scheduled closure.

LBX Runway Closure Confirmed - April 23, 2026

The contractor has confirmed intentions to proceed tonight with work on the airfield adjacent to the runway. Runway 17/35 will close at 7PM local and reopen at 7am local tomorrow, April 24, 2026. NOTAM 04/024 is in effect for this event. Contact the airport office if you have any questions.

A Runway17/35 closure is scheduled for Thursday evening at 7PM, through April 24, at 7AM. This closure is dependent on weather during the day and evening of Thursday, April 23rd, so please monitor NOTAMS for the airport. Always call the office if you have questions (979-849-5755).

LBX Construction Update UPCOMING RUNWAY CLOSURE

Tenants and Users-

Construction has commenced on the LBX airport improvement project. The first two weeks has seen the contractor mobilize to the airport and begin demolition work. Taxiway alpha north of apron entrance E1 is closed along with all apron entrances north of E1. Back taxi operations are needed for aircraft that require the full length of runway 17/35 for takeoff or after landing. Lighted barricades are in place to delineate the closed areas of the airport, and the areas of taxiway that are closed are also no longer lit with edge light fixtures.

Pavement work is continuing in the closed areas as contractor completes tasks associated with rehabilitation and reconstruction. Electrical work is also beginning in this area. Good weather has allowed for efficient progress to date.

As work in this area continues, there is a forecasted need for our first two nights of runway closure to work within the runway safety area and runway edge environment. The current projected times are as follows...

7pm Sunday, April 19 through 7am on Monday, April 20

7pm Tuesday, April 21 through 7am on Wednesday, April 22.

These times are currently forecasted and are subject to change as progress in made up to those dates. A new email will be sent out closer to the dates of the closure as the timing becomes more clear and NOTAMs are being prepared.
