FLEET MECHANICAL/OTHER DUTIES INCLUDING:
Fulltime mechanic for small school bus company (Approx. 50 vans & cars- no school buses.)
• Properly diagnose maintenance issues reported by drivers and perform repairs as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance repairs as needed including but not limited to: engine tune ups; brake and suspension system repair and replacement; electrical issues; fluid and filter changes; mount and balance tires; minor body repairs.
• Perform daily maintenance checks of fleet vehicle’s fluids, tires, lights, belts, hoses and add/change as needed.
• Road test repaired vehicles to ensure proper repairs have been done.
• Research and order proper vehicle parts.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance records.
• General maintenance and cleanup of building and grounds.
• Routine washing, cleaning interiors and exteriors of fleet.
• Drive routes as needed.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Vehicle mechanical experience or training required.
• Prefer school bus company fleet maintenance experience.
• Good organizational skills.
• Good written communication skills.
• Ability to work with people.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to diagnose needed vehicle repairs and prioritize needed repairs.
• Must provide your own hand tools.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, reach and be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift and manipulate equipment and/or items weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Be able to work a flexible hour schedule.
COMPENSATION
$25-$28 Hourly Rate-DOQ

Job Expectations:
• Properly diagnose maintenance issues reported by drivers after AM routes and after PM routes and perform repairs as needed.
• Provide list of vehicles on “hold for repair” to office staff as needed during the day.
• Recommend repairs and/or outside repairs to owner as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance repairs as needed including but not limited to: engine tune ups; brake and suspension system repair and replacement; electrical issues; fluid and filter changes; mount and balance tires; minor body repairs.
• Research and order proper vehicle parts
