In 2025, the Matson Anchorage crew earned the 10th annual Matson Vessel Safety Award, recognizing their exceptional safety culture and a year with zero injuries. Through teamwork, vigilance, and a commitment to looking out for one another, they set the standard for safety across our fleet.

Here in Alaska, where there is a lack of recycling infrastructure, we backhaul cardboard, plastics, and hazardous waste for proper recycling and disposal in the continental U.S. In 2025 alone, Matson backhauled ~330 containers for proper recycling and disposal.

We also supported Kodiak's new ocean plastic recycling facility by providing in-kind shipping services through our partnership with Ocean Plastic Recovery and the University of Alaska, helping turn marine debris into new opportunities.

Reliable infrastructure keeps Alaska connected. That's why Matson continues to support the Port of Alaska Modernization Program, helping strengthen the state's primary gateway for generations to come. In 2025, we purchased three cranes for the new terminal and continued investing in the resilience of our own operations by installing backup power generators in Dutch Harbor to help minimize disruptions during local outages.
