✨ A little magic at Universal Studios Hollywood! 🪄

We stepped into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, grabbed a Butterbeer, explored Hogsmeade and Hogwarts, and of course… we had to buy wands and try some magic of our own. ⚡️

Was casting spells as easy as it looks? NOPE. 😂 There is definitely an art to those wand movements! It took us a few tries (and maybe a little coaching 👀), but figuring it out was honestly part of the fun.

The Wizarding World isn’t just something you walk through — there are so many little details and interactive experiences that make you feel like you’re actually part of it.

And yes, Butterbeer absolutely lived up to the hype. 🍺✨

🎬 Movie lovers, THIS is why you don’t skip the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood!

It’s like riding straight through Universal’s movie history—from classic movie monsters and iconic films to the DeLorean from Back to the Future, Norman Bates, famous sets and props, and so much more.

Seeing the DeLorean sitting in front of Lyon Estates?! My movie-loving heart. 😍

There’s something so fun about recognizing pieces of movies you’ve watched for years while seeing a little of the behind-the-scenes magic that brings Hollywood to life.

🎬 We traded a little Disney magic for some Universal magic!

We recently spent the day at Universal Studios Hollywood, and I have to say… this Disney girl had a REALLY good time. 😂

Between wandering through Hogwarts, checking out all the little details throughout the park, meeting characters, seeing some seriously cool movie history, and getting a peek behind the scenes, there was so much to take in.

And that’s one of my favorite parts about traveling — actually experiencing destinations myself. I get to see what works for families, what’s worth making time for, what I’d do differently next time, and all those little things you don’t necessarily learn from reading about a place online.

Plus, apparently I found my new bestie while I was there. 💕😂

So yes… I may always have a sprinkle of Disney in me, but Universal definitely deserves some love too.

And if Universal Studios Hollywood has been sitting on your family’s “we should do that someday” list, consider this your sign. 🎬✨

The Disney magic isn’t really about the rides.

It’s the stories your kids tell afterward.

The ride they were so sure they were brave enough for. 😂
The character interaction they still bring up months later.
The snack they insist was the best thing they’ve ever eaten.
The random little moment you didn’t even realize was important until they started telling someone else about it.

There’s something about being at Disney together that gives you a chance to just connect. You’re experiencing the same things, laughing at the same moments, and creating stories that become part of your family.

And something that might surprise you?

🏴‍☠️ In honor of my husband’s birthday, let’s talk about his favorite Disney ride!

If Mitch gets to pick one attraction we HAVE to ride at Disneyland, it’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

And honestly, it’s such a classic. The cool air as soon as you float inside, the smell of the water, the drops, the cannon fire, the pirates, and of course “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me)” getting stuck in your head afterward. 😂

But here’s one of my favorite Disney facts:

🏴‍☠️ Pirates of the Caribbean was a ride BEFORE it was a movie!

The attraction opened at Disneyland in 1967, more than 35 years before the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie was released.

It was also the last Disneyland attraction Walt Disney personally supervised before his death in 1966.

There are so many incredible new attractions at Disney, but I love that classics like Pirates are still creating memories for new generations.

And since today is Mitch’s birthday, I had to give a little love to his favorite. 💜

Did you know about Rider Switch at Disneyland?

If you’re traveling with a little one who isn’t tall enough for an attraction—or someone in your group who doesn’t want or isn’t able to ride—you don’t necessarily have to choose which adult gets to miss out!

With Rider Switch, part of your group can ride while another eligible guest waits with the non-rider. Then you switch so the waiting guest can have their turn without waiting through the regular queue all over again.

Before getting in line, bring your whole group to the Cast Member at the attraction entrance and let them know you’d like to use Rider Switch. They’ll get you set up!

This is one of those little Disney tips that can make a BIG difference when visiting with younger kids. 💜✨
