Fresh, local, and community-focused 🌽🥒🍅

Last week, thanks to the help of our Dietician, Jamie Martin, we were able to bring a shipment of fresh produce from Hinton Farms of Gibsonville, NC, to our Altamahaw associates.

From vine-ripened tomatoes and crisp cucumbers to sweet corn, peppers, onions, okra, and more, associates were invited to take home fresh, healthy vegetables at no cost. We also included a few simple recipe cards to inspire new meals and snacks.

Supporting local farms while investing in the well-being of our team is something we're proud to do. A big thank you to Jamie Martin and Hinton Farms Produce for helping make this opportunity possible!

As part of Eco Spirit Week, we were thrilled to welcome Burlington Animal Services back to campus for a special afternoon with some adorable adoptable dogs. 🐾

Our associates spent time outside enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, and taking turns walking the dogs around campus, a simple activity that brought a lot of smiles.

We also collected food donations to help support BAS. A special shoutout to Carrie Sheets for coordinating this event and delivering all of the donations afterward. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day such a success!

Last week, our team kicked off Eco Spirit Week with a campus-wide game of “Houseplant Hide & Seek” and it did not disappoint!

Thanks to Lee Mattice, who sourced 10 plants from Alamance Community College's plant sale, our associates were on the move tracking down the plants from photo clues for a chance to win their own greenery.

It was a fun way to get everyone out from behind their desks, explore our campus, and support the students of ACC's Horticulture Program all at once. A little fresh air, friendly competition, and a whole lot of team spirit 🌱

Our GRL associates enjoyed a special visit from the Sol Café Coffee Cart yesterday — serving up incredible drinks and baked goods right outside our doors.

Operated through the Alamance Dream Center in Burlington, Sol Café offers an onsite coffee cart experience that not only delivers incredible drinks but also supports meaningful work in our community.

It was a great way to spend the morning together, connecting over coffee while learning more about the impact Alamance Dream Center is making locally. A big thank you to Julian and his team for making the visit so special, and to Rev. Lisa Edwards, Director of Alamance Dream Center, for stopping by to share more about their mission.

Supporting local organizations while taking care of our associates makes mornings like this even better.

Glen Raven Logistics hosted our bi-annual Warehouse Safety Meeting last week, bringing together all warehouse associates for lunch and meaningful safety discussions. Southeast Handling Systems joined us to provide a hands-on forklift inspection demonstration, highlighting key checks that operators should perform before use.

Warehouse Manager, Max Gee, and Director of Operations, Jonathan Waddell, led the meeting with various topics and closed it out by opening the floor for questions, feedback, and to call out kudos. With three warehouses in Alamance County, these meetings play a vital role in reinforcing safety and communication. We couldn't do what we do without the support of every warehouse team member.
