It was fantastic seeing so many rail fans out at the Manassas Railway Festival this past Saturday!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 32nd Annual Railway Festival this past Saturday. It was a wonderful day celebrating our community's railroad history!

Did you know that the bridges at King St. and Commonwealth Ave. were constructed in 1904?

There's a reason for these S+ schedule days and pedestrian detours around Alexandria Station—some major improvements are underway to improve safety, efficiency, and overall passenger experience!

Early this Wednesday morning, VRE's construction crews completed the second of three work windows to install jump spans across the bridges spanning King St. and Commonwealth Ave. The installed jump spans are temporary supports that will allow construction on the bridges and nearby railway to be conducted over the next few years with minimal impacts to rail service. Take a look at the work completed this past weekend in the video below.

Celebrate Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation in style this year, with the return of VRE Fireworks Trains on Saturday, July 4, 2026! Ticket sales through Eventbrite will begin on June 1. Participants will also receive a commemorative LED "sparkler" to provide some patriotic flair and fun for the whole family.

Has Bike to Work Day today gotten you excited for more opportunities to break out the two wheels? VRE is proud to announce that registration for the 6th Annual Tour de VRE is officially open! VRE's charity bike ride/race returns on October 3, 2026, taking participants along our Manassas Line, with both a 35-mile or 8-mile ride available. All proceeds support the Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, in honor of the life of a beloved member of the extended VRE family and all those who have battled breast cancer.
