Join us in Washington, D.C., September 1–2 for TCA’s Fall Business Meetings and Call on Washington!

Help shape the future of the truckload industry by participating in committee discussions on key issues including recruitment and retention, independent contractor policies, regulatory affairs, highway policy, and more on September 1. You do not need to serve on a committee to attend and contribute to the conversation. Thank you to Tenstreet for sponsoring the Fall Business Meetings.

Later that day, join us for a reception at the Canadian Embassy, sponsored by ISAAC Instruments and Manac, bringing members together for an evening of networking and industry connection.

During Call on Washington on September 2, members meet face-to-face with lawmakers and staff on Capitol Hill to share truckload’s perspective on safety, infrastructure, regulation, and more, followed by a reception sponsored by DriverFacts.

Be present. Have your voice heard. Help keep TCA truckload strong.

TCA Member Maverick Transportation, LLC recently played an important role in transporting The Wall That Heals, a meaningful tribute from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund that honors the courage and sacrifice of America’s veterans.

Last week, Travis Harris, US Army, with Maverick Transportation, transported the three-quarter scale replica and its mobile education center from Council Bluffs, IA to Reynolds, IN, helping bring this powerful memorial to another community.

We appreciate their dedication and commitment to ensuring the stories and sacrifices of our veterans continue to be shared and remembered across the country.

The wall is in Brookings, SD this weekend, track its route and find out when The Wall That Heals will be near your area: https://lnkd.in/egVGeqjB

“I cut a seatbelt up, and we made a tourniquet and got it on his leg.”

TCA has named professional driver James Brown of Melton Truck Lines a for his lifesaving actions following a serious crash near Little Rock, Arkansas.

Around 6 a.m. on May 22, Brown was driving through torrential rain when he witnessed another truck lose control, leave the roadway, and overturn.

He safely pulled over and rushed to help, assisting the driver from the wreckage before noticing a piece of metal had severed a major artery in the man's leg. Drawing on his U.S. Marine Corps medical training, Brown improvised a tourniquet using a seatbelt, helping slow the bleeding until emergency responders arrived.

“With an injury like that, you've got about 90 seconds before somebody bleeds out,” said Brown. “Had we not done something, he'd have been dead by the time help got there.”

Brown remained on scene for nearly two hours assisting first responders and investigators before continuing his trip.

Today, TCA released a new white paper, ‘Proposals for Comprehensive Reform: Prioritizing Investments in FMCSA’s Core Safety Mission’, outlining recommendations to modernize Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and strengthen commercial motor vehicle safety oversight.

The paper calls for increased safety resources, modernized registration and vetting systems, improved safety fitness determinations, stronger CDL oversight, and a renewed focus on FMCSA’s core mission: crash prevention.

A modern, data-driven, and accountable FMCSA is essential to improving highway safety and supporting a resilient supply chain.
