An oldie but goodie....
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the patch
A few trucks were still running, hauling loads to
a frac
The company man paces the floor with despair
In hopes that his water trucks soon will be there
Most drivers are off-hitch, their work has been done
On home time with families, out having some fun
But some are still working, in full PPE
Working away on a calm Christmas Eve
When all of a sudden, there came such a clatter!
Dispactch is calling! Ugh! Now what’s the matter??
“THE RIG HANDS NEED WATER! THEY ARE ABOUT TO RUN DRY!!
YOU’VE GOT TO GET MOVING! WAKE UP THE OTHER GUYS!!”
So they sprang from their bunks, their beds, from their chair
They fire up their diesels, black smoke fills the air
They throw on their work boots and warm winter hats
They do a quick pre-trip – (Can’t forget about that!)
The tires are good, the fluids are full
The windows are clean, they have all their tools.
They are ready to go! so they start grabbing gears
The call goes to Dispatch “let ‘em know we’ll be there”
One by one, they start moving, all ready to roll
All except 27. “where did Tommy go???”
The RPM’s revving higher in their Detroits and Cats
Full awake from the slumber of their brief winter naps
Soon they are all loaded, on their way to the site
Full loads on their trailers, jake exhaust fills the night
They drive down the hiway and hang a left on 31
Soon in site of the frac pad. Oh look! Here they come!
There’s Kimbo! There’s Dorothy! It’s Rita and Bee!
Clyde, Rosie, & Sully! It’s quite something to see!
They all arrive safely, not a moment to spare
Pulling up to the frac tanks, driving along with great care.
One by one they start working, together as a team
Helping out one another, a well-oiled machine!
They off-load their water, they throw up their hose.
The company man is happy (although it barely shows)
And so it continues, until the job is complete
Drive, load, drive, unload. A job on REPEAT.
Company man calls Dispatch: “tell your boys we’re all good.
You came through under pressure, as I knew you would”
The drivers head back to the yard, another job well done
And wait for the next call that they all know will come…
We’d just like to say to all those we hold dear,
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM BLACKSHIRT! AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
