🚨European River Cruise Update | Fall 2026

If you’re cruising Europe this fall, you may have heard about the current low river levels on parts of the Rhine, Danube and Main.

Right now, water levels are unusually low due to ongoing dry conditions, so some cruise lines are closely monitoring conditions and may make operational adjustments if needed.

✨ The good news: August water levels do not predict what conditions will be like in September, October or November.

As a travel advisor, I’m keeping a close eye on conditions and cruise-line updates so my clients don’t have to. If changes become necessary, cruise lines have procedures in place to adjust itineraries, excursions, docking locations, ship swaps or transportation.

Bottom line: Don’t panic or cancel your fall river cruise based on today’s water levels.

Delta service between Williston and Minneapolis/St. Paul, operated by SkyWest Airlines, will conclude on September 7, 2026. Passengers whose travel plans may be affected will be contacted directly by the airline regarding available options. For Delta customer service, please call 800-221-1212.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I’ll be a little slower to respond this week as our family is spending time at the McKenzie County Fair!

This year is especially exciting because our kids are raising pigs and getting the opportunity to show all of their hard work.
