We were well prepared for a cold night. We dropped our winter wall on the rear doors and set the Propex heater to 60 degrees which cycled on/off about every 10 minutes because we cracked a window open for a little fresh air. We slept inside winter sleeping bags and under electric blankets. It was quite balmy actually.

We added a zippered insulation blanket to CAV’s rear-door area where we lose a lot of heat in the Spring/Fall/Winter. Needle work by my very talented step-daughter, Cel and spouse, Lizzie Beth. Zipper provided by Bug Wall.

The Heat Dome pounding much of the southwest this month broke for two days while we were at Chaco Culture National Historical Park. Although CAV wasn't able to safely navigate the unmanaged "roads" to the Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah Wilderness Study Area or the Kutz Canyon Paleontological Area, he got us into two other sites on our itinerary: Natural Arch and Angel's Peak Recreation Area. Overall, it was a great few days of exploration, adventure, peace, and quiet.
