I'm going to say it again, for those folks in the nosebleeds;
Regarding >'21 FLOAT X2
You want to be on the latest version,
Updated model yr '24
Not OE model yr '24
To check, scan the code or run your sr # on ridefox.com
If it comes up associated to a bike, even if it is a '24 model bike, it has likely not received the updates.
If the system comes up with just the description of the shock, and it is a '24 model, it is likely to have already received the updates. If you want to confirm, open the air can and look for the silver seal head assembly (Where the shaft goes in). Yes, this requires some specialty tools and a vice.
The silver seal head indicates that it has received the updates.
If yours does not have the silver seal head, it needs to go back to Fox.
My opinion is that it is not worth servicing the old (21~24) units.
Help them Cull the herd of blown X2's.
Send your shock back and get an updated, full factory, box fresh X2.
The new version is, (In Borat voice)
VERY NICE!!
My personal updated X2 has been passed between four or five bikes by now and run non-stop since august. It has been superb. I have yet to see an updated version fail, which is good, because I have also not seen an updated seal kit yet. π
This is one of 10+ that I've helped swap so far, and I am far from done.
So far, nobody has paid more than the price of shipping (To them) and nobody has been asked to produce record of purchase.
I charge $50 for the service of facilitating the process, but you can do it yourself quite easily. Just make sure you check the box for warranty eval on the RA request form.
Most have been quick turnaround of 2 weeks total.
This one took 10.
Sometimes they run out of a size. As you can imagine, they are flying off the shelves in NV.
None of this applies to the Coil version, the DHX2.
DHX2 has not been updated.
Yet.π€
Thank you for fixing the issue and doing what is possible to resolve it.
