Período de Comentarios Públicos sobre la Enmienda

El Estudio Regional de Transporte del Área de Dougherty (DARTS) está modificando su Programa de Mejoramiento del Transporte (TIP) para los años fiscales 2024–2027 y 2027–2030, así como su Plan de Transporte Metropolitano (MTP) 2050, para abordar las necesidades actuales y futuras de movilidad de sus ciudadanos. Esta enmienda incluye la incorporación del Proyecto N.º NRT 26(05), Mejoras al Sendero Ribereño de Albany (Albany Riverfront Trail Improvement). DARTS es la Organización de Planificación Metropolitana (MPO) para el área urbanizada de la Ciudad de Albany, el Condado de Dougherty y la mitad sur del Condado de Lee.

La enmienda al TIP y al MTP estará disponible para revisión y comentarios públicos. El documento de la enmienda estará disponible para revisión desde el domingo 30 de agosto hasta el martes 29 de septiembre de 2026 en la siguiente ubicación:

DARTS Transportation Improvement Program (FY 2024 – 2027 & FY 2027 - 2030) & 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan
Amendment Public Comment Period

The Dougherty Area Regional Transportation Study (DARTS) is amending the region’s FY24-27 & FY27-30 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and 2050 MTP to address current and future mobility needs of its citizens. This amendment includes the addition of Project Number NRT 26(05) Albany Riverfront Trail Improvement. DARTS is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the urbanized area of the City of Albany, Dougherty County,
and the southern half of Lee County.

The TIP & MTP Amendment will be available for public review and comments. The amendment document will be available for review from
Sunday, August 30 through Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at the following locations:

🚧 Parking Lot Advisory at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport (ABY) 🚧

➡️ To help us repair a sinking drain grate in our main public parking lot, we have temporarily closed a small section of parking near the center of the lot.

⚠️ Please follow the directional arrows around the construction barrels and do not park in the marked spaces surrounding the work area. This temporary traffic pattern will allow us to safely complete the necessary repairs.

🅿️ Once the surrounding vehicles have cleared, the area will provide a clear route around the work zone for all drivers.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the safety and condition of our parking facilities.

Thank you for helping us keep Southwest Georgia Regional Airport safe and accessible for everyone!

The MPO is excited to see the City of Albany begin construction on its 16-Downtown Traffic Signals. The construction will include not only new Signals but Pedestrian Facilities as well.

Great things happening at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport - ABY!

✈️ We have been working hard to improve the overall experience at our airport for not only our passengers but our airplanes as well ✈️

🚧 We have wrapped up our taxiway and apron rejuvenation project and it looks amazing!

✈️ We are consistently trying to enhance the overall experience at our airport, stay tuned for some more exciting projects soon to come!

Cool 360 camera cover photo is courtesy of Gage Cleveland, CDM Smith. It's a recent photo of the Oglethorpe Blvd bridge in downtown Albany. Shot from the east end of the bridge. At that time beams had been installed only on that one span. This photo shows some of the other bridge columns and caps (the horizontal piece) from the east end looking towards downtown Gage will be shooting more photos and we'll share those with you, too.
