A beautiful, million-dollar view...bookended by decay.

We recently shared a couple images of our demo project at the famed Garden Pier's South Building, and the reaction was split...to say the least.

By the reaction of some, you would have thought we took a wrecking ball to the War Memorial.

So, let's talk about it.

We want to be clear- Atlantic City is our home. Many of us were born IN Atlantic City, grew up in the cities surrounding it and have returned year after year as our own resort close to home.

The comments how "Atlantic City is rotting away" or "Someone needs to bulldoze all of the buildings that are falling apart", and yet...when a crumbling, albeit historic structure is to the point of beyond saving is brought down...the local uproar all of a sudden becomes deafening.

Many people who haven't visited our city by the sea in years are the loudest, or if they HAVE, they rolled in on a $12 Greyhound bus, lost a couple bucks on penny slots, got a free buffet and went home to a place that is not here.

Change must happen for progress to follow suit.

We can assure you that we will be sharing more info and images of the Garden Pier demolition, and future renovations for amenities, entertainment and beachfront life are happening not just here, but all over our embattled and BEAUTIFUL Atlantic City.

As a company built at the New Jersey coast, we're all-too-familiar with the excitement and "party atmosphere" our area has for Memorial Day. Many here are saddened that it's not "beach weather", and putting a dampening on their parties.

Today, maybe of all days the less-than-ideal weather is a necessary reminder of why Memorial Day exists--

Today we pause.
Today we remember.
Today we give thanks.

Let us all slow down and be thankful for what we have, and instead of rushing to the beach if you have the day off please consider calling a friend/loved one who may have lost someone who died protecting our freedoms.

You ever open a Nature Valley granola bar and it turns to dust as you take it out of the wrapper? We officially found the house equivalent in Ventnor. Not sure how it was still even standing but it pretty much crumbled into dust as soon as we touched it.

One of those cases that leaves no doubt of whether demolition vs. rehab was the right choice!

Our Junttan has been packed up and is headed home. The BBB(Belmar Boardwalk Bathroom) Project rolls on with pilings set and we roll on. Hell or high water this boardwalk is gonna get its bathrooms, been a long project already but it feels real good to get to this checkpoint.

No problem. We'll just remove the floor, put the stacks and crib craft in the water, add some 64''x14" beams on top and then build an entire floor lagged to the balloon-framed studs.

Yes, we've been working on the demolition project at Garden Pier.

First-put your pitchforks away, friends! We come in peace. We’re here to inform you that this section of the famous landmark was heavily damaged during this past Winter's onslaught of serious weather, after already braving over 110 years of storms, making the area unsafe both above and below the boardwalk.

Taking care of the damaged sections is the first step to making this historic pier new and usable again. Look beyond the rubble to see the future- a better and more entertaining future in Atlantic City, which has been a rally cry for years and ownership has plans to do exactly that in the future- stay tuned for some exciting updates to this legendary spot!
