The race starts at the ROC and winds through the Abilene Zoo, with participants receiving access to the Zoo after the race!

Compliments to the team at Abilene Youth Sports Authority for putting on the 17th Annual Jon Smith Volleyball Tournament this past Friday and Saturday.

Friday’s tournament was followed by a concert for players and coaches featuring Aaron and Jake Watson. The players were also treated to an inspiring presentation from two members of the Abilene Christian University volleyball team, who spoke with the young athletes and shared words of encouragement.

AEL was pleased to assist the staff with waste services for this great event. We’re proud to support events that bring our community together and encourage the next generation of athletes!

AEL Landfill will be closed on Saturday July 4th, 2026 and reopen for normal business hours on Monday July 6th.

AEL was proud to team with volunteers from Keep Haskell Beautiful during yesterday’s Adopt-A-Highway cleanup. Despite the hot, windy conditions, eight dedicated volunteers collected eight league bags of debris, helping keep the community clean and beautiful. Together everyone can make a difference.
