Every time a customer comes to pick up a vehicle and sees the bill, I hear the same thing:
“Man, I need to start a towing business. Y’all making all the money.”
What most folks don’t see is what it actually takes to keep the doors open.
Tow trucks don’t come cheap. A single truck can easily run $150,000+.
Insurance alone can be $40,000–$100,000 a year.
Fuel prices are outrageous.
Then add employees, payroll taxes, training, maintenance, repairs, tires, wear and tear, after-hours calls, and being available when everyone else is asleep or with their families.
This business isn’t about getting rich quick. It’s about responsibility, risk, and showing up when people are having one of their worst days. It’s long hours, big bills, and constant pressure—just to stay reliable, legal, and ready.
I’m grateful for the work and the customers who understand the value behind the service. Just know there’s a whole lot more behind that tow bill than what meets the eye.
