RIP CRAIG, AMBOSELI’S LARGEST TUSKER
The plains of Amboseli are quieter today. We have lost a King. For anyone who loves the wild, Craig was more than just an elephant; he was a living monument. With tusks that scraped the earth and a gentle soul that defied his size, he was one of the last true “Super Tuskers” left on this planet. Sadly, his watch has ended. At 54 years old, Craig passed away on 3 January 2026 around 3:32 am. He fought back from illness in November, giving us a few more precious months, but time is the one thing even a giant cannot defeat. He did not die alone—dedicated rangers stayed by his side through the night, keeping watch so he could pass in peace.

Rest easy, big guy. You earned your sleep. 🍂🐘
