These companies are spread across the country as well as Southern Sudan and the DRC. We seek to recruit a qualified person for the following position

Job Title: Accountant

Reports to: Finance Manager

Location: Kampala.



Position Summary: The position will assist the Senior Accountant in terms of supervising the department and completing all monthly financial reports, answering ad hoc queries, providing direct support with both internal and external audits of the different companies and providing support supervision to other accountants by ensuring that accounting procedures and internal controls are operated according to the Company guidelines.

Duties:

Act as a reliever for other Accountants of the group in case of emergencies, periodical leaves etc

Filling periodical tax returns (VAT, WHT, Payee etc.) with URA, NSSF and other agencies

Handling, compiling and filling the required details/documents and regular follow-up of URA audit

Handling, compiling and filling the required details/documents and regular follow-up of NSSF audit

Facilitate Internal Audit to ensure that internal controls are designed, documented and implemented adequately to prevent and detect fraud or errors

Coordination of periodical External and Tax Audit of the companies

Coordination of Insurance matters of group companies at HQ

Handle and supervise preparation of petty cash of group companies at HQ

Regular inter-company reconciliation for the group companies

Monitoring, Analyzing and Compilation of Reports/Accounts of group companies for periodical management review

Supervise the Accountants including assigning them duties and responsibilities and ensuring delivery of results and quality financial services

Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial reports for HQ

Report monthly to the Finance Manager on all accounts and generation of reports in the respective Companies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Minimum of a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting), Bachelor of Science in Accounting or any other related field.

Professional qualification of ACCA/CPA

Minimum 5 Years relevant working experience five years working experience in the related field

Computer literacy (Excel, Tally) and excellent documentation skills are a must.

Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities. Keen attention to detail

Willingness to travel upcountry and work occasionally under strenuous conditions.

Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.

Excellent time management and planning capacity.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Strong organisational and Interpersonal skills

Deadline-oriented, ability to multitask and work independently

Good communication and report writing skills,

Job Summary

The job holder is responsible for the day- to-day aspects of the Bus Terminal including the workshop, providing leadership, strategic direction, management and evaluation of all aspects of this Transport sector while playing a key role in external representation, legal compliance, vehicle engineering, transport coordination and team leadership.

Qualification and experience required

A bachelor’s degree in Transport and logistics or a related field of study, possession of mechanical engineering qualification is an added advantage.
Eight years relevant experience in a similar industry /Automobile Field with strong leadership skills;
Possess the ability to develop and work extensively at the executive level.
Must demonstrate good communication skills both oral and written;
Demonstrable experience in management ie strong planning, organising, leadership and co-ordination skills;
Should be able to execute with minimum supervision
Must be computer literate especially MSWord, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
Should be able to meet or exceed goals, be able to drive decision-making, besides critical thinking and Problem solving skills.
Strong marketing, negotiation, sales, customer care skills
Possess the ability to self-motivate, multi-task, and work within a team
knowledge of spoken Swahili is an advantage
Ability to go for field activities in the regional offices
