We had an incredible GITEX!

It was an honor to meet with Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre, and all the other attendees at the GITEX AFRICA Breakfast Meetup!

We were inspired by insights from Trixie LohMirmand (EVP DWTC, CEO KAOUN International), Asmae Afifi (Head of Strategy, Agence de Développement du Digital-ADD), Lacina Koné (CEO, Smart Africa), KARIMA El Hakim (Director, Plug and Play Tech Center and Play), Muchu Kaingu (CTO, Lupiya), Mustapha Zaouini (Chair, AI In Africa), and Nawfal Fassi-Fihri (Directeur Délégué, 212 Founders by CDG Invest).

They shared powerful perspectives on Africa’s digital future and the growth of its tech ecosystem. In her remarks, Trixie LohMirmand made a notable mention of Uganda's intentional steps towards advancements in STIs and deep tech commending Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero MasanzaMonica Musenero Masanza for her scientific approaches and vision for the digital and knowledge economy.

We have invited Trixie LohMirmand and her team to Uganda ahead of their planned roadshow. I look forward to having Kiira Motors Corporation and KaCyber Technologies innovations as part of their expedition to showcasing Uganda alongside other scenes on the African continent.

Today, I attended the 15th National Competitiveness Forum at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, focusing on "The role of the public and private sector in realizing the knowledge economy agenda in Uganda."

Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero Masanza emphasized the importance of Science, Technology, and Innovation ( ) in economic development, highlighting a global market opportunity in STI worth over USD 51 trillion.

Mr. Allan Muhumuza discussed the significant role of E-Mobility in realizing Uganda's 10-Fold Growth, citing it as a key sector in the global economy.

Key takeaways: pivotal role of capital markets, accelerating policy development, strengthening public-private partnerships, and investing in human capital and technology.

I applaud the organizers, presenters, and the audience for their contributions to Uganda's future economic growth and competitiveness.
