Moscow-St.Petersburg-Moscow
We have never gone so far from home, and all the more hitchhiking. We left the Moscow region, jumped into the morning train, crossed Moscow, and began to stop on the border with Moscow city. Wait a long time did not have to, after 15 minutes, drove up a huge jeep, with air conditioning and cool music. He landed us to the next city and there after 2 minutes of his outstretched hand, the VW Golf sport equipment, stopped and with an average speed of 140 km/h, we were successfully delivered to end of Moscow region. Just as quickly we caught a next car there, the driver of which listened all the way to the classics and jazz, talking about the great. Most of the way we just nodded, pretending to understand what he was talking about, but he cute us with hotdogs at the gas station. We drove 400km to Veliky Novgorod, and only we got out of the car, as huge hailstones flew from the sky, leaving bruises on the body. We hid in a local gas station on the road. And as soon as the hail turned into a shallow rain, we took our way. We really wanted to ride a truck, and as always, when something you really want always comes true. The trucker drove us straight to St. Petersburg, we were hoping to catch fire on the day of the city, but we were a little late, and we went for an overnight stay, to a girl who was found in a couchsurfing. A smile on our face did not leave the thought that we were somewhere far away from home, we were on a journey. We also enjoyed trivialities like subway coins tokens in metro like in the good old days, and a bright night sky overhead, and the fact that today we will spend the night on the island, though on a civilized, but still island.
In the morning we naturally ran to the main square, which was very pleased with its spaciousness, the hermitage, in which they lost their way and lost half a day, and most of all pleased St. Isaac's Cathedral, from where a spectacular view of the whole city was opened. They admired the Church of the "Savior on Blood" and visited the museums of slot machines, tried duches for 3 Soviet coins from the machine gun, went out into the street and wanted to continue to walk around the city, it was still light because now here was "white nights", but glancing at the clock, stunned that already 11 nights and ran to our host. Tomorrow we were waiting for big plans, because we are 7 years old, as we are together.
On this day we rented a room in the Art Hostel in the style of 70x where every room was, then Jim Morrison, then Hendrix, then John Lennon, and we chose without windows and doors, decorated with neon lights. And today I decided to make a surprise for my beloved, having prepared a romantic evening on the roof, in the center of the old city, with a beautiful view of the Neva river. On the sloping roof, rugs, champagne with glasses and rafaels were comfortably placed. We sat there until the night watching the bridges move open apart. And the main thing is that this evening I made her an offer and she agreed. This roof became so native that I wanted to stay there, but the desire to see the whole of Petersburg moved us further.
The next day we found a new shelter through couchurfing, and met the guys from Serbia of Montenegro and of course from Petersburg, with whom we are still friends and come to each other.
In short, St. Petersburg is simply a stunning city with amazing, friendly people and from now on it is our most beloved. Do not forget to visit the "Peter and Paul Fortress", especially when the knight festivals are held there, which we happened to accidentally hit, in Kinh palace - Petergof, to ride on wingships, and the coolest in St. Petersburg is to rent a jet ski and ride, dissecting waves, along the Neva River, straight in the center of the city, under the drawbridges. This pleasure is very expensive (around 100$), but there is a wonderful life-hack in the form of coupons on the Internet, at which it cost us 20$ for 45 minutes of skiing, but it's exactly worth it, with such a beautiful view nowhere else you will not be allowed to ride a scooter .
Back we got a hitchhiker too, for 15 minutes we were picked up by a trucker who drove us straight to Moscow, he weighed the whole trunk of bananas, and probably we just ate the box.
Even if I had been given a ticket for a train or a bus, I would still have gone hitchhiking, because this is not just a free ride, but something more.
Petersburg stayed in our hearts for a long time ... And now I'm writing this text at work, while the boss is not looking at the breaks, and as soon as I run home, I start packing bags, because tomorrow we go there again, only now by night hitchhiking and with tents on Lake Ladoga. To whom we are interested, we made a great vidos about our adventure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqxYWqL6Ciw and there will be many more. Kindness to all and successful roads, live full friends!
